Sean Garrett has one of those names that you instantly recognize, but can’t quite place. You’ve probably read about him in music news and reviews, yet you can’t recall any of his work. Well, how about Usher’s Yeah!? Chris Brown’s Run It? Ciara’s Goodies? While Garrett’s solo career has yet to take off, he is the producer-songwriter responsible for a handful of chart-topping hits. Now, the man behind the scenes is doing his best to make it to center stage. His new single, 6 In The Mornin’, is an up-tempo R&B track with strong club appeal. It’s surprising that Garrett stuck to the production/writing side of things for so long, because his voice is actually quite easy on the ears. The beat is standard. cookie-cutter club material, but it certainly doesn’t detract from his vocals. Rick Ross mixes things up by kicking things off with a guest verse. 6 In The Mornin’ will appear on Garrett’s debut album, Turbo 919.
Sean Garrett is recruiting some all star performers for his debut. He's had Luda, Wayne, Plies, and now Ross. I personally want to hear some good music with just him, because the rappers usually outshine him. Not on here though, Ross is boring and the production isnt very creative either. This is a step back in my opinion, and I dont really see it in the clubs either. I will say though that I am pulling for this guy and waiting for his career to finally move forward.
Whats up with this guys ever-changing look? thank god it looks like he got rid of that mohawk LOL, this song isnt bad, i might play it again, he did a pretty good job producing this himself.
This dude got a nice catalog. I didn't know he wrote those tracks. I like most of the tracks he's done solo. This one sounds like a throwaway, but still isn't all that bad.
Sean is a very tight writer but doesn't have that thing. U dont have to be the best singer, dancer or musician to have that thing. I think it would be best to stay behind the scenes.
I'm glad Sean changed his look from that freaky looking "WWE's Viscera on a diet" style (Google it if you don't understand). This is a hot song though, for the clubs, or riding to the club, or riding from the club. LOL. It's a Friday Night or Weekend Jumpoff theme song for sure. I liked his vocals. They blended well and the beat kept my head nodding. "The biggest cop that we've seen thus far" did a decent job. I never heard him on a club track...I don't recall at least.
right from the start, when the kick hit, i was turned off by this song (song has to catch my ear from the second it hits my eardrum)..."da boss" rhymes are weak and boring and i dont see what the big deal about sean is...and he's far from being better then the dream..nice try justo
LOS and Sean provide a solid bassline to do the damn thing over, let's start there. Ross always brings energy to his guest features, but I wasn't really feeling his work off the top (maybe better with the back 16?). As for Sean, I think his work on this song is solid. His chorus is mad catchy and as Charlie indicated, it isn't hard to hear him do his thing. Solid record.
