Think of your favorite R&B singer. Okay, now think of your favorite song from that artist over the past four years. Chances are the song you’re thinking of was either produced or written by triple-threat, Sean Garrett. With notches in his belt from recent work with Beyonce (Check On It, Upgrade U), Chris Brown (Run It!, Wall to Wall) and Fergie (London Bridge), the talented musician is finally venturing towards work on his debut project, Turbo 919. For a taste of solo material, the Atlanta-born Garrett has hooked up with fellow ATL resident Ludacris and together are offering up the buzz joint, Grippin’ on My Bed. With so much experience working on others’ behalf, its only a matter of time before Garrett shines alone.
"Grippin" is a little repetitive, but there is no doubt that Sean can sing, even with what sounds like a voicebox (anyone tired of the fad yet?) some of the time. Luda was born to rhyme on beats like this.
THIS JOINT PRETTY GOOD,IM SURE IT WILL DO WELL I BEEN WAITIN TO HEAR HIM SING...I WISH HE DIDNT USE THE VOICEBOX...COMIN FROM BEIN A WRITER/PRODUCER U'D THK HE'D KNO WE WANNA HEAR THE VOCALS, NE-WAY LUDA IS A GR8 ADDITION TO THIS.IM NOT SURE Y BUT HIS VOICE REMINDS ME THE-DREAM...MMM??

Wow! I am really impressed by his resume! I never knew anything about this guy. His voice is really good and he can do it all. This is definitely the era of the producer/songwriter where people like NeYo and John Legend are finally starting to get the recognition they deserved for years...Good Job here, very nice! Ludacris does a great job on another R&B track as well!
i guess he can sing...just someone else using the voicebox.....luda is on point as always but tru to mmoore when said that luda hasnt come out wit his own tracks in a minute...dont matter tho...he seems to shine on any beat nowadays..
Luda for British Prime Minister!! If i could sing like this fella id be calling Luda to get on my Track!! Nice one to chill wid ya girl! Luda just never struggles on any tracks ever always seems 150% natural, ill be on the lookout for more of Sean Garretts Tracks impressed
Luda kills it on RnB tracks, period! This Garret dude has been under the radar for a few years now, so Im not surprised hes trying to do his own thing. I'm not rating this very high because I can sense the voicebox in here at parts, which I cannot stand how everyones using it.
I have a theory. A songwriter + producer that can sing will get their name (through the music company) on many songs with song writing or production credits, then when they are popular enough, they enter the music scene as a singer. Meaning, their solo debuts have been planned for a long time coming. Happened with Babyface, Ne-Yo, and The-Dream.
