On June 24, Sean Garrett will release his debut album, Turbo 919. As Garrett explained during an interview with DJBooth this past winter, he hopes that the material on the project will have listeners saying, “Damn, I wanna hear that record again.” Already one-for-one with his Ludacris-assisted debut offering, Grippin on My Bed, “The Pen” is back with his second single, Girlfriend Ringtone. While Garrett is additionally responsible for the song’s lyrics and production work, he receives a guest contribution from the only artist in the industry to have the cojones to say, “f**k mixtape DJs,” Lil’ Wayne. An ode to both girlfriends and the lovely ladies who are on a guy’s radar to become a ‘girlfriend,’ Garrett’s new hit has an undeniable summer vibe.
Note: The streaming of “Girlfriend Ringtone” has temporarily been suspended.
Listen to Sean Garrett's Girlfriend Ringtone ft. Lil' Wayne
Summer song for sure. That pic kinda scares me, looks like somthin outta Star Wars haha. Wayne drops a solid verse, Garrets vocals are on point. Lookin forward to hearing this album.
LOL....He is a scary lookin dude for sure! I think the vocals are decent. The beat is pretty average. This is OK lil wayne right here...far from his best, but still a good feature. I think this can go into rotation; but that's about it.
Mediocre vocals, he sounds like the rest of R&B now. Beat isn't bad, has a club/chill vibe, reminds me slightly of "Buy U A Drank" by T-Pain, except with much more energy from both Wayne & Garrett. Wayne's verse is entertaining, funny, especially with drum breakdown, but its typical Wayne. Club single that I see getting radio play and success cause of its smoothness, but not something I'd listen to a lot.
wow this is so far from his last single, this song is decent at best and i couldnt see this song gettin too many spins.......MUSICMAN: do u c what i mean lil wayne is everywhere and he has saturated the market this is why i tired of lil wayne (side note: do wayne ever drop a bad verse or bad feature lol)
Man, Sean Garrett looks like a skinnier version of Visara from the WWE. But his vocal and production skills are definitely on point. This song bangs hard. The vocal mix should have been equalized higher though, so they won't sound like he's singing behind a door and they would come off sharper. Wayne's verse was okay, but he's not original anymore. It's not a refreshing experience to hear him rap anymore. Real talk. I'll throw this in rotation though.
No wonder it took Sean Garrett so long to get out from behind the scenes, he ain't much of a looker. If his impressive career is of any indication, his career as a solo artist will be full of memorable hits.
I like this song. The production is smooth. Sean's voice is ok nothin special, but good 4 the track. Wezzy did well on this. (his album is fire by the way.) good track!
Az usual Weezy does his thang & this is a really smooth track. I will admit his look may be something to work on as its a bit "ruff". Otha that, I likes it.
aye im feelin this one...cuz as a rapper/singer...i kno this track took a long time to record...wit all tha background vocals and gettin em right...and weezy's aiight...its in rotation...digg?...~
Okay song. Nothing too memorable. It has a decent sound to it but there is nothing specific that I like about it. Weezy seems like he is on every song that comes out.. and I am personally gettin tired of hearin him. Anyway, the songs aight, not something I'll be listenin to over and over tho.
Its a hot summertime joint, as for rotation, no thank u. its not one of them songs i will jus play to listen to it.ill rock to in da car when its on da radio but dats bout it.
He sounds almost just like Chrishan on the intro!, i swear this guy looks like something i cant say lol, seriously get rid of the mini mo-hawk LOL i liked grppin on my bed better than this song though, he kinda sounds like hes straining a little bit, but overall ok.
aw man when i heard the first few lines... i was think'n this was gonna be the sh*t.... the rest just happens to be average and nothing special cause the flow dosen't match up with what's being said...
I love the song. Gots a nice groove to it. Plus anything with Wayne is hot. Sean Garrett is kinda creepin me out in this photo though. lol. It looks like he got a skid mark on top of his head. LOL!!!
