Shockwaves were sent across the Internet earlier this week as rumors started to swirl that Scarface’s forthcoming album, Emeritus, will indeed be his very last.  While DJBooth can neither confirm nor deny these reports, we do know that the Houston veteran has concocted one heck of an album for his longtime listeners.  On the title track of the album, produced by Scram Jones, Face appropriately explains the definition of the word (e·mer·i·tus: retired but retaining a professional title), while reminiscing over his fond memories of the game and the monumental impact he has made.  Initially intended for release this week, Emeritus was pushed back to a December 2 release date.  The project will be released by Rap-A-Lot and Asylum.

I'm really digging the scattered production. I've never been a Scarface fan, and I probably won't become a die hard one after this...but this joint is pretty hot. He had a sincere and energetic flow on this joint...one of the best ones I've heard from him. (Keep in mind I haven't heard a lot from him). I could Jadakiss on this joint as well. That album title is mad ill. I guess this had no hook....just straight spitting. Can't argue with that. I'm throwing it in rotation.

Scarface has been a major force in the hip-hop game. Much respect. He will be back for another album--they all come back. It's in their blood.

I don't like this song very much...his flow is cool and also the beat, but the background music is repetitive! The overall result isn't bad but I would never include this among my favs

Haven't heard Face like this in a while. Nice gritty track from a southern icon that never got his due. Can't wait for the cd.
