Strong Arm Steady Gang - On Point
Artist: Strong Arm Steady Gang
Featuring: Too $hort
Producer: Terrace Martin
Album: Arms & Hammers
Label: SAS Records
Damn, it’s been more than a year since last we heard from the Strong Arm Steady gang? Say it ain’t so! Those worried that Krondon, Mitchy Slick and Phil Da Agony have been slacking on their grind can breathe a sigh of relief – on the lead single off their forthcoming full-length, the West Coast natives assure us that they’ve been keeping it strictly On Point. Backed by the smoothly bumping, bass-driven production of Terrace Martin (complete with one of the most eccentrically funky hooks I’ve heard in a minute), SAS fill listeners in on what they’ve been up to lately: pimpin’ hoes, flirting with fine honeys, getting money, having money, f*cking money… you know, the usual. Joining the trio on the guest tip is a Bay Area native who’s never off his hustle; Too Short addresses wannabe ballers on the back, offering a few pointers on the art of pimpin’ and showing off the fruits of his fly labors. Does this aptly-named cut leave you craving more? Then pull out your Sharpies and mark your 2011 calendars (if you even have one already) for the February 11, release of SAS’ debut studio album, Arms & Hammers.

Eh not too sure about this one. It's ok but seems like it's just a little bit too far out there without much to back it up. All emcees flow well over the beat for the most part tho.

I don't mean to get all regional, but if you're not from the west coast, you might not be familair with this super stripped down, Too Short-esque style. It's usually a love it or hate it situation, but as a Cali resident, I've got my speakers turned up.

Very regional sound, but something that can be appreciated if you are familiar with it already (regardless of where you might live). Good to hear Too Short is still doing the damn thing.

The beat reminds me alot of We Goin to Do it to Ya of It Aint Safe No More! Gotta love old school Busta, but anyway. I felt like the hook was way too funky compared to the verses but lyricism and flow was, very much so, 'On Point'.

Strong did pretty nice in this. The beat is very great. I like the production from Terrance. The verse are pretty weak tho. There is very nice flow to this. In rotation for me. Good luck Strong.
