Incredibly it’s coming up on two years since overnight sensation Sam Adams, now knows as Sammy Adams, made his debut on our pages with Driving Me Crazy. Since then he’s only grown more determined to prove that that he can build a lasting career and new single Blow Up is the latest brick in that foundation. His first release since signing to RCA Records, Blow Up covers some very familiar rap territory – the never-ending pursuit of success. Producers J.O.B. & MadV flip a sample of punk rock legends The Pixies’ Lose My Mind into a beat that’s equal parts rock anthem and hip-hop grinder. From there Adams delves into the daily grind of a rapper floating somewhere between the bottom and top, pulling double duty on a sung hook and midtempo verses aimed at any doubters: “I just want to prove my teacher wrong / and prove my degree didn’t help me write this song.” While there’s still no word on a title or release date for Adams’ major label debut album, a blown up single will undoubtedly help both arrive sooner rather than later.

If Adams set out to prove he isn't a one-hit wonder from days gone bye with this record... I believe him. I like the alternative edge. He can be taken seriously, and now... he should be.

Not usually my type of track, but I like the lyrics. This is OK to me. Sammy's flow is average.

I see that it is different from his other records, but it is nothing that different from other rappers. He isn't anything special or really creating his own style, just seems like a copy of other white rappers.

this isn't half bad. Not really a fan of the guy, but this song is decent. I'm sure Kings of Leon will get a cut off that sample, but it's a nice twist to their song. Adams definitely has what it takes to make a catchy record.

Average....Sammy Adams has a lot to prove to me before I take him serious as a rapper. The only reason why I can even remotely listen to him is "Fly Jets Over Boston" with Curren$y

His flow sounds real natural, the lyrics have enough substance for me to take it seriously. I think he is on to something here, I'm looking for bigger and better things to come for Sammy
