Sam Scott - Shake The Groud
Artist: Sam Scott
Featuring: XV
Producer: Matty Trump
Album: Stuck Dreaming
Label: Leedz Edutainment
A Boston-born, Minnesota-based vocalist meets Kansas emcee? Who says boundaries aren’t broken everyday in Hip-Hop? Roughly one month after making his DJBooth debut with We Get Around, crooner Sam Scott has returned to the Booth for the world premiere of his new single Shake The Ground. No stranger to the occasional Hip-Hop collaboration, We Get Around features both Mod Sun and Mike Dreams, Scott recruits the help of Kansas’ own XV for Shake, which features two very contrasting, yet distinctly complimentary styles. Rather than overpowering the record, XV’s verse adds a touch of welcomed unexpectedness. And with producer Matty Trump‘s futuristic blend of a variety of sounds, Shake The Ground surely isn’t lacking in uniqueness. Lookout for the release of Scott’s Stuck Dreaming album, set to hit the DJBooth on July 23.

Sam has a very distinct sound, which really carries the record alongside Matty Trump's excellent production.

Cool flow by Sam Scott and the beat by Matty was pretty cool. This is a feel-good song for all...

This is an average track at best, one which I feel has an "elevator music" kinda feel, you know, in one ear and out the other. This is in no way, shape or form a memorable track, even as a dance track it falls flat! It is somewhat happy but nth that stands out, and as awesome as Sam Scott is as a person, as an artist, I feel he's a complete mess, who has no sound and no style that makes him stand out! From what I've seen and heard so far, I'm not impressed, and I really go out of my way to like/love what he does, but it just can't be done! :(

@ Sam Scott ~ I will most definitely listen to your album when it drops, and no doubt I'll let you know exactly what I thought/felt ;). Thank you for your lil "shout out", it's greatly appreciated :) I do not go out of my way to say not-so-positive things about artists and their "creations", however, music is a very personal and deep experience for me (I'm sure you can relate) and I cannot say I love sth when I simply do not. Furthermore, you're a confusing artist to me, for you have so many flavors going on at once that I get lost with what it is you actually stand for! Your songs seem very eclectic, yet your album title and cover look like sth I'd find in the country section, your fashion style is like an indie Rhett Butler, your voice is quite poppish, and yet you work with Leedz? Hmmm...again just a personal take on what I've observed thus far...you're a very sweet person but music, much like art, doesn't care about the person behind the work, it needs to speak for you, and I look forward to you finally managing that with your newest album. Good luck :)
