As a host on perhaps hip-hop’s most prominent radio station, New York City’s Hot 97, Peter Rosenberg knows true talent when he hears it. Inspired by some of today’s best up-and-coming talent, Rosenberg has teamed up with Washington DC producer Oddisee to release a six-track EP entitled A Rosenberg Oddisee on October 28. On the disc’s lead single, Saigon and M.O.P.‘s Lil’ Fame notice that from Baghdad to Brooklyn (and everywhere in between) we are at war with one another. Plenty of hard-hitting percussion and some classic M.O.P.-style horns provide WW4 with listener appeal, regardless of whether or not you enjoy New York street rap. In a nutshell, hip-hop fans would do well to stay tuned to see what else Rosenberg has up his sleeve.

Chyeeea, Saigon brought it here! This production is crazy, sounds like some old school Ruff Ryders type of track. I really love the mean swag on here, you can definetly sense the attitude. The chorus takes a step back but still carries a hot vibe and gets you into the track. This one gets me hyped up, solid 4/5.

Dang. This production kicks with swagger. Saigon served this joint up real nicely. Lil Fame snapped...it's funny, cuz "Ante Up" has been in heavy rotation this week for me. I wonder why his vocals are so distorted though. This is a definitely lyrical jam though. Into rotation is goes.

This is NEW YORK right here. This screams 1998 east coast music to me. Its alright, but seems dated.

I like the production but not them...the hook is really weak in my opinion! I have heard worse but this is not for me

I'm surprised that nobody has left a comment like, "The East Coast is back, yo!" Is it? No. But this song is certainly working in its favor. Great production, great usage of Fame, and Saigon is one of the most underrated (for good reason) artists in the game.
Check back later this week for more from this EP. |
