Ryan Leslie is finally a top priority. When Leslie sat down inside the DJ Booth for an interview two years ago (March ‘06), he earnestly admitted that his production and songwriting work for NextSelection artist Cassie was more important than finishing his debut project. Now, despite preparing for the forthcoming sophomore release from his sexy singer, Leslie is all about his own project. The self-titled debut is set for release off Universal Motown on June 17, and in addition to featuring the surprise hit Diamond Girl, the LP will also include a duet with the aforementioned Cassie, Addiction. The true definition of a quadruple threat, Leslie wrote, produced, recorded and A&R’ed his whole project.
The Beat on here is really nice and smooth. His voice matches the feel of the song nicely; and Cassie sounds good here too! The bridge is SICK With the throwback MJ sound! This is a BANGER!
This cat has some skills. He needs to hurry up and drop this album. Cassie does a good job. I've heard better from Ryan Leslie but this is not bad; he's singing is not as sharp on htis track.
FRESH!....im a big fan of ryan leslie...i like his work and how he's his own person...digg???...but this one is off tha charts...CANT WAIT for tha album...straight banger...~
***HEY EVERYONE*** Ryan will be joining me inside the DJ Booth for an interview next week. Please hit me up with any questions you'd like to ask Ryan, I will try and slide in a few. If I use yours, you'll be credited during the interview. Thanks!
This song isn't super, but I must admit I almost like Cassie here...I was the first to say she can't sing and I've not changed my mind, but this song is perfect for her, she adds that something! I have to listen to it again, for now it's in rotation to me
yeah this is really good, like when it starts out i don't like it but as the song goes on, i guess i become "addicted to it..." and this is good Cassie here, not trying to push her range. Leslie betta be tappin dat!
Ryan Leslie never lets me down with production and the songs is nie and smooth i am really feeling it cassie got the nice hook ... BAnger
And Z i have a question for RL. I herd rumors Cassie left next selection is this tru did she go to badboy or is she still a next selection artist or have angreement with both labels? Also Keep Doing your think i respect you craft you are truly the future of production and Engineering.
nobody has better beats the Ryan Leslie, I love that high voice and it dosent sound fake!
Cassie is flawlis on this like her body,
Banger for sure but isnt most of his stuff, this is for real R&B lovers
Ryan Leslie’s DISTINCTIVE PRODUCTION doesn’t always work (I’m thinking of Nina Sky’s last feature here), but when it does, it’s great cuz it brings a refreshing sound! I’m not sure about his vocal skills, but he reminded me of JOHN LEGEND somewhere in the song, and that’s a serious plus! I feel you Patty, I was ready to complain about Cassie’s voice and then she actually sounded decent… :p 3.5*
Its not bad. The beat is cool. Cassie's voice is slightly better than normal here, too. I can't wait for R-Les to come out wit an album cause I'm sure the beats will be on point as they always are.
wow like the beat to this .....
"sawquid!!!" ..... he kinda has the jt flow mixd with john leg. .... tight .... good r&b song no doubt .... with that said 4* .... could be this summer's "lost without you" song
Z: Ask about What the difference is now that he can focus (or wants to focus) more on his solo Career? is his life any different because of that?
- this song is it. Great song. Feelin it
Ryan Leslie has alwayz been a great producer to me. The production iz sick, and Ryan and Cassie's voices sound good together, along with giving the song a wonderful contrast.
