Just about everything readers need to know about Booth newcomer Ruste Juxx can be gleaned from the image to the left of this blurb, which finds Juxx and eXXecution production partner Marco Polo kicking it old-school – like, Dark Ages old-school – surrounded by pools of freshly-shed blood. If you need even more evidence that Nobody can f*ck with the retro-informed dopeness Ruste and his behind-the-boards collaborator have cooked up on their forthcoming LP, you can find all the proof you need on this cut, the A-Side off a new vinyl single. Here, Polo delivers a head-nodding percussion-piano beat as RJ unleashes three verses’ worth of pure and uncut lyrical fire, lacing the track with aggressive quotables: “If hard was a bullet, you wouldn’t have a shot / the trigger, I pull it, your head won’t have a top.” Ouch. Digging this track’s combo of hard-nosed hostility, densely-packed flows, and classic instrumental vibes? If so, you won’t want to mix the murderously dope material the emcee-producer duo are set to showcase on eXXecution, scheduled to hit stores and online retailers March 23.
