Though he achieved considerable success under his original stage name, releasing a debut album (‘06’s My Life & Music) and touring with the likes of Ne-Yo, Keyshia Cole, and Trey Songz, the Connecticut R&B singer formerly known as Young City decided to adopt a new moniker for the same reason as Young Son/Mike Dreams: to stand apart from the countless “Young” artists in the game. Now known as Ru Williams, the singer is preparing to carve out his niche on the national scene with the release of his sophomore set.  On his latest promo single, Ru lets a special lady know that he’s willing to give her whatever her heart desires—all he asks in return is “Your Love.”  Complete with a Stargate-style instrumental by Beat City Productions, this grown-and-sexy track is sure to catch the ears of club DJs nationwide, and may well spark a bidding war.  In any case, it’s a good bet Your Love will earn a spot on the ballot for Best of the Booth ‘09’s Underground/Unsigned R&B category!

Off to see the Jay-Z show in the Chi, but had to rate before I left...

If you didn't know any better, you'd think this was a Ne-Yo record. Real enjoyable, smooth vocals and the production effort to match. Impressive Booth introduction for Mr. Williams.

His vocal resemblance to Neyo is pretty apparent, and that may hurt him in the long run if he can't estabish his own seperate identity. But for now this is some good R&B music...

i think it doesnt matter who sings the song, if a song is good, its good. i agree it sounds like neyo, but i think if he makes enough good songs like neyo does, he shud be fine.
