Roscoe Dash - Zodiac Sign
Artist: Roscoe Dash
Featuring: Lloyd
Producer: Jahlil Beats
Album: 2.0 Mixtape
Label: MMI/Musicline/Zone 4/Interscope
What, precisely, is it that makes one relationship succeed, and the next crash and burn? While I’m going to go ahead and guess that the answer is not “the position of the moon and stars,” the mechanisms involved are often so mysterious that it’s tempting to look to the sky for answers. And you certainly can’t argue with the kind of results Roscoe Dash describes on Zodiac Sign, a new single lifted from his recently-released 2.0 tape. The artist’s first feature since December 2011’s Sidity, Zodiac Sign is a disarmingly smooth selection coming from the Turnt Up rapper. Jahlil Beats flips a vintage soul sample to back reverent bars dedicated to the woman Dash wants to spend forever with, and Young Goldie crooner Lloyd jogs our astrological memory on the hook (I always forget Taurus, myself.). Roscoe’s 2.0 street album is available now online. His Interscope debut, Ready, Set Go!, still hasn’t been scheduled for release in the U.S., but who’s to say an enthusiastic response to the tape might not finally earn it a place on Stateside shelves?

Tough production and sample use by Jahlil Beats. Cool care-free flow by Roscoe Dash. This is a cool track for these nice summer days. I'll put this on rewind a few times. Nice chorus by Lloyd.

To me, Roscoe has T-Pain syndrome. He sounds great on other people's records, but he struggles to carry his own record from start to finish.

Catchy. Would rather have Chris Brown on the hook.

Didn't like Lloyd on there much... Roscoe got a pretty nice flow though.

Roscoe Dash surprised me on this track. Lloyd was the perfect choice. The production is tight. I have this in heavy rotation.
