Don’t let the name fool you; on the chessboard that is the music industry, Rook considers himself a king. On the latest single off his forthcoming street album, Pixel and DMT‘s quietly intense piano-loop boardwork sets the mood as the Cambridge, Ma. representative chronicles his efforts to “...build [his] Kingdom.” Rook’s latest street release, the punnily-titled MixedApe mixtape, is set to hit the ‘net for free download in June. In the meantime, fans can click the link above to cop Kingdom for free via Audiomack.

This is dope, I heard it in the submission inbox, and I instantly liked Rook's delivery. The production hits hard to.

Rook, you have my attention. Sharp, strong, confident delivery. The hook isn't great, but everything else is on point (and not that isn't me hating on Boston haha).

I like Rook's flow over this bumping Pixel and DMT Production. Great chorus too.
