For much of 2008, the DJBooth has been filled with features, interview references, and news headlines in support of President-Elect Barack Obama. However, just because the election is over and Obama is set to be inaugurated as the 44th President of the United States in late January ‘09, doesn’t mean we won’t continue to feature new music in celebration of his landmark victory. Kicking off the celebratory festivities is Etherboy Ron Browz, who has (again) remixed his successful single Pop Champagne. Appropriately re-titled Barack Champagne, Browz teams up with his Arab Money partner, Busta Rhymes, and the two crack jokes that “mean no disrespect to either McCain or Palin.” If you like what you hear, expect much more from both artists next year; Browz and Rhymes recently signed deals with Universal Motown and will release their respective projects during Q1.

i like this alright. not lovin busta in there, i didnt think it could get worse than jim jones, but i guess i was wrong. its pretty creative tho. imma go w/.... 3? it should be a 4, but busta knocks it down some.

This was a horrible rendition of Trey Songz and Drake's "Pop Rose". Ron Browz sucked like lollipop lovers. Busta made it sort of better with his presence. WHY DIDN'T THE BOOTH FEATURE THE ORIGINAL "POP ROSE"!??? Forget this garbage. 2 stars for the beat (beacause it's always been dope) and Busta.

This is not that better than the original. Busta's new verse is pretty tight and the hook is unique. Still rather hear the Pop Champagne rmx ft. Jay-Z and Nas. Thats the only version ima be bumpin on my ipod

First of all, MH, we did feature a version of the original - which includes Jim Jones and Juelz. Ron's solo version isn't an actual record, it was leaked by his camp.
Moving along... it is great to see so many people in hip-hop enthusiastic about Obama's campaign victory. Let's see if this monumental event can spark some unfounded creativity too...

Ron brown should never do hooks ever, I'm as happy as anyone about the election, but damn it, this is not poppin at all. The beat is cool, but this song is bad in every other area.

yeah MH. there's a remix to pop champagne with luda. that song is FIRE. even ron browz part. (its different than the remix featured on here) but its better. and pop rose wasnt all that great though. ANYWAY. this is just OK. busta did just OK. and ron.. yeah well..

is this gonna be the next hot topic to spit to? Dont get me twisted i'm happy as hell Obama is in the house but how many more barack songs are we gonna hear...but it is what it is, i guess im gonna celebrate with everyone else :)

And Pop Rose IS better than all of Ron Brownz's versions but it's not great either But I digress, this ones OK only cuz of the Barack Factor.. |
