Today, The DJBooth is proud to premiere My Inner Way, the brand new video from underground NY emcee Rome Clientel. The visuals are a perfect fit for the song, and what really captured our attention is the video’s simplicity. Rome isn’t trying to play a character or flaunt his swag, instead he’s actually dressed a lot like the blue collar man he evidently is. That’s really his biggest appeal; he isn’t talking smack or playing games, just telling it like it was and letting his music speak for itself. Of course, it helps when that music is driven by an incredibly smooth beat from Kount Fif, which is filled with beautiful piano notes and vocal samples. Never heard of Rome before, but I certainly wish I would have awhile back because he is a dope rapper. Music video and the track in general were solid. Looking forward to hearing what else Rome has in store for the future.

I was definitely feeling his lyrics. I feel like his flow is a little stiff but the beat was catchy and his message made this track all the more real

Rome has the tone of Jim Jones, but with even better bars. Nice mic-work by Rome Clientel and the simple beat by Kount Fif and simple video work well for this track.
