Nineteen-year-old emcee Rocky Diamonds may be making big moves in the music game, but he hasn’t forgotten his homies who are still embroiled in the struggle. Every night before he goes to sleep, the Minneapolis native petitions the Man Upstairs to protect and assist them as they work their way out out of the ‘hood. In low-key, conversational verses, Diamonds offers encouragement and advice to hustlers in the audience: “No f*k sh*t, just hustle / Trust who only trust you.Knucklehead handles production, accenting his simmering synth beat with brisk brass riffs. A guest hook by Def Jam buzzmaker August Alsina rounds out the package. I Pray is slated to appear on The Markcus Shaw EP, due out for free download and digital purchase next Monday, January 13. In the meantime, May’s ArtOfficial mixtape is still available for streaming and download in the Booth.
