As Rocko‘s debut single Umma Do Me continues to gain firepower up the charts, the underground CEO-turned major MC has been Busy deciding what song to choose as Self-Made‘s second official single. Continuing his trend of one-word titles (see Tomorrow), Rocko focuses this single on his preoccupation with the hustle, the money, and the shine (sound familiar?). To assist on the production tip, as he did on two of Rocko’s previously released songs, Atlanta’s Drumma Boy provides a trunk banging bass. Nevertheless, fans also might be busy… looking elsewhere if Rocko doesn’t flip the script on his topical range. Hopefully more variety will come when Self-Made is released on March 18.
Hey everyone, DJBooth will be interviewing Rocko soon! Please feel free to send me an e-mail with questions you'd like to ask or include them in your feedback!
I gave Rocko a 4-star rating on Umma Do Me and this time he is getting a similar rating! I really think Rocko is onto something hot. I don't know what makes him better than others that rap like him, but I think he has a different swagger. I am feeling this track for radio. I think Umma do me is a lil better...
if you took his Imma Do Me lyrics and flow, and put it into this, it would fit the beat perfectly. This production is JUST like that song, and I HATE it when artists use almost the same beats as their last tune, it's ridiculously talentless! I hate it! this song is wack.
Whenever Drumma Boy is on the beat you can expect the same thing, although I say his beats are ok, im afraid his beats are going to be played out and he is not very creative, and who is Rocko? They will say this next year
He needs to be himself and not be like Jezzy , no disrespect but he sounds like Young Jezzy and this STUFF HAS TO STOP! What happen to originality , being creative ???? Im not hating on the South but Damn ..Why is the game so one-sided... This is not cutting it ! Im not feeling him or this song!! Hiphop Will Not DIE!!
