Rick Ross continues to sign young rappers like Will Smith signs autographs, most recently adding Chicago representer Rockie Fresh to the untouchable Maybach empire. For his first official release as a MMG artist, Fresh elects to take his Driving 88 stand out selection You A Lie and remix that motherf**ker with a verse from his new boss
Bawse Rick Ross. Sorry for the obscenity in that last sentence, I just can’t help myself when a LPeezy beat like that is banging in my headphones, and I know I’m not alone: both Fresh and Ross vow to always keep it realer than a documentary on the mic. I am still not sure what Rockie's signing to MMG means for his future - Ross' label is getting quite crowded at the moment - but he clearly has a confidence about him, which shines through in this music, ultimately making him an attractive signing.
