Rocki Evans - Woman
Artist: Rocki Evans
Producer: Syience
Album: Simply Twisted
Label: Free Integrated Media
If you know Rocki Evans through the soulfully lush grooves of Lipstick Regrets and Shape of My Heart, or the exuberant pop stylings of Fantastic, prepare for a shock. Is it still a shock if you’re prepared for it? Uh, I’ll have to think about that one…. But the point is, on Woman, leak numero uno off his forthcoming street album, the up-and-coming crooner sets aside the synths and samples in favor of something a little – OK, a lot – more bare-bones. Syienze mans the boards on this minimalistic ballad, crafting an instrumental that’s little more than a few rolling acoustic guitar riffs as Rocki expresses his all-consuming, damned-near-existential longing for a certain female:“I need you here, under my skin…” Simple but memorable, this bluesy cut is proof that Evans can keep listeners’ rapt attention without all the bells and whistles – no easy task. While Simply Twisted isn’t set to drop till the first quarter of 2011, fans fiending for more should be sure to check out his Booth-sponsored Songs About Girls mixtape, released earlier this year and available here for free streaming and download.

This song is just on another level of R&B....Well todays R&B!!
Rocki Evans completely takes your attention with his vocals and the beat is simple yet effective!! Great job Rocki you knocked it out the park with this track and don't even get me started on that hook.... |

This guy is speaking his heart through the mic. He said everything in this song all on his own.

Too experimental, he tried too hard to be different and it doesn't work.

Rocki is an R&B beast. His voice is unique and impressive, but also caters to the sensual side of R&B as well. He is truly an up and comer on the rise. I liked "Lipstick Regrets" better, but this is still a step in the right direction for the young singer.

OOO i was hype when i saw that Rocki Evans finally made another record. I LOVEEEDDD "lipstick regrets". Its still one of my favs.
As for this record... its not as good as "lipstick regrets"... but it defenitly different from it as well. I love the feel of this. Its soo smooth. Also, Rocki has such a great voice. And i love the production from Syience. Syience did a perfect job on this. This is a def Banger. |

Rocki has talent. I've heard a lot of his material this past year and he has grown considerably over the past 11 months or so. This minimalistic boardwork is risky to sing over because it cannot hide vocal flaws. Rocki isn't the most polished diamond, but here he shines without any problems.
