2008 has been a great year for almost everyone in the Konvict/KonLive family.  Thanks to various hit singles, two album releases, and projects from T-Pain and Akon due out this November, the label has seemingly been firing on all cylinders.  Not currently on the release calendar, however, the fellas from Rock City are sending a not-so-subtle message to their label with their new mixtape, entitled Put The F*ckin’ Album Out.  On the recently-released disc, Don’t Talk Much and Da Spokesman once again twist a popular charting song with a fresh new freestyle (see No Air and Paper Planes).  Over Malay & KP‘s original beat to John Legend‘s Green Light, the brothers find out that last night’s one-night stands have decided to stick around.  Afraid of what their women might do if they found out, they tell their booty calls, “You Gotta Go Right Now.”  The Put The F*ckin’ Album Out mixtape is available via Rock City’s Myspace.

Rock City put most of your favorite artist's new jams to shame on their new mixtape! This isn't as good as John's version, but it shows their pure talent and creativity. I'm with you fellas... Put The F*ckin Album Out!

LOL. This is funny, since it's right after listening to a John Legend song. Homey on the first verse sounds a lot like John. That's pretty ill. It's not as good as Green Light, but definitely a close runner-up! Solid vocals and swagger. I'm loving it. I'm excited about Rock City's album. I hope it will be as creative as their remixes and freestyle tracks.

Well honestly to me freestyles are useless. I mean, the time that takes you to change lyrics to an already famous song you make a new one! I can't find differences between this song and Green Light by John Legend...I don't care much for the lyrics! This is OK, useless

Theres no point of freestyling over a beat if you cant top the original. John Legend's version is way better and because of that the expectations of this freestyle is high. Its not even close but I gotta admit that Rock City is on fire recently! I will give this a 2
