Rock City‘s label bosses still haven’t set a release date for their debut album, Wake The Neighbors, and so the two have continued to promote themselves as if they were independent.  Fresh off their appropriately-titled Put The F*ckin’ Album Out mixtape, the U.S. Virgin Islands natives are set to release the brand new street single Money on My Mind. While the line is one of the most frequently heard in hip-hop, Da Spokesman and Don’t Talk Much spin it into a unique boast – they’ve never sold drugs, and they’re damn proud of it!  Need another reason to take a listen? Drumma Boy‘s heavy-hitting beat (see Umma Do Me, Put On), will no doubt rattle many a speaker.  If this single shakes the ground hard enough, it may force KonLive/Interscope execs to Wake The Neighbors in the first quarter of 2009.

Their deliveries are good, I hate the yelling but overall I like the message and the slight bit of storytelling that is done here; rating = 3.5. Now if the yelling was gone, and possibly a guest verse I could easily see this being a 4-5.

This is a solid joint from Rock City. A lot different than their current single, I like it. Production from Drumma boy is on point! The concept of money is over done, thats the only thing holdin this back from a 4. Good look though.

Te hook sounds bomb. I like the production as it came in. The delivery is not bad either. The vibe just reminds me of "Duffle Bag Boy". The blend of rapping and singing with pretty smooth. I wasn't too annoyed by the yelling. It definitely was less annoying than a 2004 Lil Jon ad-lib or present day DJ Khaled. Fam smashed the lyrics on the 2nd verse! I agree Phenom 3D. This is the best song I've heard from RC as well. They definitely earned this 4 stars I'm about to give them.

I am unabashed Rock City supported. Their musical creativity is always present and their style and sound is really like nothing else the mainstream industry is currently offering. They can rap, hey can sing, they can write and they can perform the hell out of their material. With all that said, this record is just okay. I have heard plenty of R. City material, and this isn't among the best.

... with that said, though, its still better than most.

The concept is sort of generic, but the beat is good, as mentioned they can sing and rap equally well in my opinion. It's a catchy song, but I dont think its anything too noticeable.

WOW:), I believe the proper way to fix this is to either a) Not do anything about it, or b) Unplug the computer.

Bein from the Virgin Islands R. City grew up on dancehall..thats where all the yellin comes from. All the "right about now" "Maydayyy" is just from their roots. although the yellin is a lil excessive cut em a break damnit haha
