Virgin Islands duo Rock City have made a name for themselves in the Booth by putting their own spin on other artists’ hits (see their freestyles over M.I.A.‘s Paper Planes, John Legend‘s Green Light, and Jordin SparksNo Air).  For their latest freestyle, Da Spokesman and Don’t Talk Much have taken inspiration from Jazmine Sullivan‘s Salaam Remi-produced third single, Lions, Tigers & Bears.  As usual, the two turn the original song’s concept on its head, in this case amending the chorus to, “I’m not scared of lions and tigers and bears/ ‘cause I’m from the jungle, too.”  They make a good point – growing up amidst violent crime and extreme poverty in the ghettos of St. Thomas would likely make the pressures of puppy love seem like a walk in the park.  Fans of Rock City should stay tuned to the Booth – sometime in the next two weeks, the duo will release their latest Wake the Neighbors single, the Akon-featuring I’m Leaving.

Oooo, I should have known this was coming! Let me say first off, THIS IS NOT TOUCHING MY BABY MAMA's version, but this was hot. I definitely think it's the best cover so far, but I haven't heard any other ones yet, so....IDK if the statement really means much...lol.

Rock City! These guys are so gifted. They ace every freestyle and covers. Get the album out, damnit.. Let's hope "I'm Leaving" does what "Losin' It" had the potential to do, but never did..

I liked their versions of other songs better (like my favorite from them, the remake of J-Holiday's "Bed") They do have great smooth vocals, though. It's pretty good, but I could have done without the rapped/sung part at the end.

I HAVE GREAT NEWS! I have spoken with the fellas manager and have confirmed that their new single will be dropping oh soooooo soon (as Richard informed you all of above) AND the guys will be lending their gifts to our new FREESTYLE SERIES in March!

I love Jazmine's version - as MH said above - but these guys always do their freestyles a justice.
