While waiting for a follow-up to the moderately successful Losin’ It, Rock City have been keeping their name out there with uber-creative freestyles (see No Air, Paper Planes, U Gotta Go Right Now, Lions, Tigers, & Bears), but their attitude can best be summed up by mixtape title “Put The F*ckin’ Album Out.” It seems the KonLive/Geffen marketing team finally took notice, as today we are proud to present the WORLD PREMIERE of their official new single. Ready to chase their dreams of musical superstardom, Da Spokesman and Don’t Talk Much pack their bags and let everyone back home know, “I’m Leavin these slums and never coming back.” Featuring a bridge by their boss, Akon, and a guitar-percussion instrumental by Swizz Beatz, I’m Leavin’ puts a brand new hip-hop twist on a very old musical topic (does John Denver ring a bell?) Hopefully this star-studded cut will be enough to finally earn Wake The Neighbors a solid release date—in the meantime, fans can look forward to a pure banger when Don’t Talk Much steps into our Booth with an exclusive freestyle next month.

rock city has some good songs.
they've done some freestyles that just WOW'd me. im not feelin the singing parts or the chorus. and the beat is OK. but the RAPPING was THE BEST part of this song. strip the rest. and u have fire. |

This is a decent cut. The production is pretty good and I think Akon has a good hook on here. The rapping was only average to me. Nothing special. I hope this can propel Rock City into the rap game though, because I think they have talent.

Eh, Swizz Beatz's production work has always been a hit or miss for me. I do like the way Rock City arranged the song though, switching it up between the singing/rapping, slow/fast melodies. Akon works well with them, it was nice to hear him off the hook for once. This track will do decent on the charts at best, it's missing that catchy edge.

The singing part of the song aint that good and the production is mediocre. It sounds kind of like a country song in the beginning and the beat aint that good theres too much sound at one time. Decent song

This perfectly showcases the guys versatility as both emcees who offer a unique flow and singers who can harmonize beautifully on a hook. The production on this is interesting for Swizzy and I dig Akon's feature accompaniment.
This can work at CHR, Urban, and Top 40 radio!

The beat on here is pretty cool... Unique instrumental (Generic Swizzy+Country Flair)... RC spitting hard as well as slow rhymes on the beat ...all the instruments in the background is good.... Akon's part was xtremely HOTT ... Its a Banger fo me ...

Just OK for me... I like Rock City normally, especially their freestyles, but this is just a little wierd. It's not bad, just nothing that will create much buzz. I like Swizz's production work, but definitely not his flow.

The transition from the island-flavored-reggaeish pre-chorus to the country hook is AWFUL, even though each separate part is HOT! :s
Orchestration is a failure through the whole song despite the good performances by Rock City. The final product is not harmonizing at all! |

im not a fan of swizz @ all...plus overall i dont like the vibe of this track either....i am a huge rock city fan but seriously i'll never bump this again and i find nothing good in this joint...but heyy thats just my opinion...even akon didnt shine in this one!!!- ahh i know, amazing- he usually is always on point....

I usually enjoy Rock City, though this is a little different. I thought the production was good, though it just didnt suit any of the artist on here.
Rock City have made better songs then this in the last year. |

First time i heard this song i thought it was an OK track but after the second or third time i started realizing that these guys have talent. Its not every day you find u duo who can rap and sing (and be good at it too). Swizzy held it down with the production and its something new to bring to the game

I'm with Z. This track isn't the best thing Rock City has done, but it's like a talent show for Rock City, and they're winning all the prizes. Not what I expected when I heard of the title and that it featured Akon.
These guys are so talented it's a shame they aren't big yet with that ONE single they had (because that single was just that good, and with all the tracks, freestyles, mixtapes, etc they do..). Can't wait until they get a release date. |

I think Swizz needs to retire as a producer, his production is soooooooooooooooo identical. Sounds like something I've heard before lacks Freshness, Rock City on the other hand have done better.
Akon also needs to retire. |

@ sponge, swizz does use some of the same type beats, but he also always brings some diversity to them, and he deffinelty ALWAYS makes the track a hit, to come here and take a shot at swizz and akon is jus ignorant you can voice your opinion but why come at people like that, seems like a "game" move name droppin but anyways.. song is great for me, im feelin the hook, i like how they spittin its crazy

I feel a little dissapointed here. The chorus is so energetic and you can definetly see that Rockcity has got a lot of potential, but the verses dont fit the song; Way too slow and the musical guidance is almost gone there. In rotation for me

I did not like the raps. The pre-chorus was hot. Losing it was much better, but this is still a good song. Did Alex Da Kidd co-produce this (They shout him out at the end)? He's a pretty talented up-and-coming producer from the UK.

Perfect combination of originality and formula. The combo of singing and rapping shows the versatility of these guys, mad talent here.
Swizz delivers another summer hit, similar to some of Cassidy's old stuff. Akon + summer tracks ALWAYS equal success. |

yeah weird transition from the start to the first verse. rock city definitely has better tunes than this, but this could work for mainstream as a summer song. the popping sounds are interesting. I want to like this song, but the production seems to messy for me. i am disappointed

So friggn-Ezzay to listen 2 Rock Citaay and cuzzzin Akon lace this track with their silky smooov vocals. Production is bang-on, not too overdone and compliments their style. Hit It Rite on the NAIL Swizz, IMO.. Feelin this 1
