Roccett - Give You Some Game
Artist: Roccett
Producer: Tha Bizness
Album: Another Day Another Dollar Mixtape
Label: Green Up Entertainment
While waiting for Def Jam to kick off promotions for his debut album, CTE West representative Roccett continues to do exactly what he’s been doing from day one – release mixtapes. The newest addition to the collection, Another Day Another Dollar, will most likely be released in February. A record set for inclusion on the forthcoming street album finds the Carson native ready to Give You Some Game, offering listeners some crucial pointers on street life: get your grind on, watch your back for haters, don’t let the gold-diggers and STD-carriers get with you (Ms. Right will come eventually), and keep your money secure. As Rocc preaches to the streets, Tha Bizness (most notable for his boss‘s Best of the Booth-nominated My President Is Black) drives the message home with an organ-driven beat. So Roccett has spoken; let’s hope the audience listens.

Straight west coast type beat/flow. They always hold it down. Overall average track in every aspect, nothing really stands out but an enjoyable listen.

I second my main man, cb126405. This isn't an over-the-top impress you track, but then again - its meant for a mixtape. I like the production work here and Roccett rides the beat real nice.
Few artists are grinding as hard out on the WC as this man. |

I think the drum loop is an East Coast loop, but the organ and the bells sounds give that west coast flava. It's a full track though it doesn't get boring because of the subtle changes throughout the joint. Roccett doesn't have the "IT" factor, his voice is average, flow average, punch lines below average, hooks sucks. I don't think Defjam gonna gi dis n*gga budget homie, if they didn't push Luda what you think they gonna do for this dude?

I like the west coast laid back beat. It's a good look for Roccett. Ive heard much better from him and i believe that he has unbelievable potential in tha rap game.Overall, this is a solid track with a a nice beat, ok lyrics, and a somewhat catchy chorus. Its nothing special though.I'll put it in rotation.

I'm liking this track... the beat is pretty good and Rocett's flow is pretty nice. the hook gets kinda tired, though...

I'm feelin the beat and the music. His flow is ok but the overall song bores me! It's not my type I guess, I'd like more energy...it's in rotation

So my question was "who is this Kat where he feels like he is credible enough to give somebody the game?"
I like the production on this track. Something to ride to. As far as Roccett giving us "Game", he's not saying anything many artists haven't said before. But let's just say his game is new.... He does have a novice flow, which I think can only get better with time. Nothing to get excited about, but it does make me move and I don't hate it, so its going in rotation. |
