When last we heard from CTE West recording artist Roccett, he was being courted by Akon‘s Konvict Muzik. Since then, the Carson, California native has turned down that proposal and has, in fact, become a full-fledged member of the U.S.D.A. group alongside bossman Jeezy, Slick Pulla, Blood Raw, and Boo Rossini. Nonetheless, Roccett continues to work on his untitled debut album, with the newest buzz single bringing a sound that’s just what you’d expect from CTE. Head in the Clouds features Rocc’s slow-paced-yet-motivated rhyme scheme over a relaxed beat from in-house producer Arnaz “The Nasty One” Smith, as well as background vocals from up-and-coming duo Rock City. So don’t keep your Head in the Clouds; be on the lookout for plenty more Roccett in the coming weeks.

the music production is pretty straight, but mixed with the vocals sounds kind of bad...

The inside of that hoody is crazy, reminds me of that Captain Eo attraction at Disneyland. You know, the 3D Michael Jackson joint. Is that still there? Anyway this track is dope. I like the Pharrell esque feel here on the hook. Roccett kinda gets overshadowed by the heat of the production and the hook. This was made for T.I. if you ask me.

Never heard of Roccett but he is quite impressive on this. This is a nice song, love the beat, the song has a nice vibe. Sounds like a beat that Jay-Z would enjoy. In rotation!

I agree with Smitty, Roccett is going to surprise a lot of people in '09. If you've been a Booth follower over the past year or so, you should be familiar with his work - as well as his cohorts here, Rock City.

I like the production but I'm no satisfied with the vocals...I'm with you jermaineatl! I'm feelin his flow but not the melody, that head in the clooooouds it's kinda annoying. It's a pretty song but not a banger to me!
