Although Rob G has been promoting his upcoming debut The Inauguration since last summer, with singles such as Reppin’ My Block, How You Like Me Now, and Table Dancer, his label, Universal Republic, has yet to put his album on store shelves. Over that period of time his son’s mother sadly passed away, but what would be a career-ender for many artists hasn’t stopped this Houston hustler. Moving forward, Rob explains his musical motivations on his new single, For The Hood. Hookman Dallas Blocker delivers strongly with Beanz & Kornbread doing the same with their boardwork, but neither eclipses G’s impassioned flow. The Inauguration is currently set for release later this summer.
Yes, sir ... we got a club banger. Rob G is becoming a G with this track. Great selections tonight. I can't complain. Keep up the good work Burmy, DJZ, Nathan, and the rest of the crew.
I am definitely feeling the beat! His style of flow just seems kind of generic on here, but it is better than average. This isn't bad, but it just isn't something that would make me go out and purchase a Rob G album. I am waiting for that Super Banger from him still.
Overall, this falls in line with the rest of Rob's singles. Regardless, this is one of the most humble young rappers I have ever interviewed, listen here
I hate when the beat goes like this through the whole song: high annoying boring sound, now low annoying boring sound. So lazy I can’t stand it! I’d rather hear only the rappers, maybe like “I” by Lil Wayne, just some percussion. michaelhannah sums it up!
ummm, yeah i dunno, it makes me wanna move. I acually like da beat 2. i think its a club banger...idk if i really like it doe?-lemme think...for now tho ill give it da "banger" score since it iz.
I would not understand why anyone wouldnt like this song. the beat is top notch, the hook is tight, and i like it when rappers add in some spanish every now and then, its different. good rapper, gives me that fat joe vibe though.
