Premiered earlier today on iHeartRadio, the lead single selection off Rihanna‘s seventh studio album is an outsized, anthemic ballad based around a double-decker simile: stars are just like Diamonds in the sky, which are just like the singer and this record’s anonymous addressee. Co-producers Stargate and Benny Blanco provide a beat to match RiRi’s visions of ecstasy, layering coruscating club synths over a slowly building, almost martial four-on-the-four percussion rhythm. A chirpy, catchy hook rounds out the package. Time to weigh is: after this foretaste, are you feeling good about Unapologetic? Wow, the fact I had to do some digging to actually listen to this song should say something. I liked it. It was a nice change from some of her previous music that was basically her getting f@$&*d with a shovel. Always respected Rihanna's vocal abilities, this song doesn't strenuate (real word?) her talent, but overall it was pleasant.

Im going to be real honest... Rihanna sounds pretty good on this song
1. Her voice on the track is very warm and clear 2. Nice production and the lyrics show maturity 3. No auto tune or at least I can't tell lol 4. This song is going to be a huge hit on the radio |

I have been following Rihanna's growth since her first release and I must say that the girl is fearless! She takes risks and so far, it has paid off. Truly feeling this single. It is a nice departure from a poppy trend, which can easily pigeon-hole an artist.

Good job Rihanna. Her voice is clear and strong. Although the chorus did repeat quite a bit. But it is a nice twist from her past songs.
