Over the last few weeks we’ve heard a trickling of leaks and releases from Rick Ross’ highly anticipated album Teflon Don, from the radio flop Super High to the Kanye-dominated Live Fast Die Young, but today we’re confronted with Teflon’s biggest release yet, Maybach Music 3. (And for a man of Ross’ girth, that’s pretty big). Like its Maybach Music predecessors, MM3 brings on some production team J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League to craft a lush beat as luxuriously rolling as its automotive namesake, along with some supreme rap star power in the form of guest verses from T.I. (who kills it), Jadakiss (whose rasp feels a little out of place) and a hook from Erykah Badu (no one saw that coming, no one). Impressively, and fittingly, it’s Ross himself who takes command of the track, closing out MM3 in epic fashion with an impressively lyrical, yet still blunt, verse overset against orchestral production. Anyone can release a song but I have to give it up to the Bawse, he’s released an event. Teflon Don will finally be freed on July 20; hip-hop nation awaits.

This song first appeared on the Top Hip Hop / R&B Chart on July 12, 2010

Not the biggest fan of Erykah Badu on this record, but everyone else sounds great over the amazing (as always) production from J.U.S.T.I.C.E League. I am jazzed for Teflon Don.

Besides B.M.F. it seems like Ross is going for another laid-back feel on this album, which is great. I hate how most of the album is leaking but I guess I should be used to it in this age. I like this better than Pt. 1 but still not as good as Pt. 2. All spit great verses and while Erykah sounds a little out of place I got used to her and eventually loved her on the track.

This song sound wise is absolutely sick. This production may be my favorite from The Justice League. This is the epitome of production it feels like a full featured song, instead of one part repeated for 3 minutes lyrics arent classic but this beat is so good.

This is just....EPIC! The production is top notch (does JL ever miss) and the features were right for the song. The only complaint i have is that I would have preferred to have Erykah START the track off, rather than in the middle (seemed a little off)...but other than that, I loved it!

Erykah sounds pretty bad on this. I'm not a Ross fan so I can't get behind much of his songs. T.I. takes it hands down and I'm really glad the other car song he released didn't make the update because it is just trash.

Justice league is amazing on this and everyone else is pretty good. Rick Ross, if nothing else, knows how to create mood music. I'm definitely loving his features lately. The production is simply amazing.

These songs have become Ross's go to songs for the collaborations. I like that he is reaching out to new artists on each cut. This one is another great addition.

T.I. puts up another spectacular verse (possibly the best of the bunch). Jada adds his own work but nothing classic. Erykah Badu is a unexpected yet very welcome edition while the bawse also kicks it up. Overall Hov's verse on the original still ranks the best but that is one hell of a verse to beat.

J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League puts together an epic track here. This level of orchestration isn't seen in hip-hop. I liked the lack of a drum beat. It made everything that much realer. Everyone did their thing, but I say T.I. was the best. The way he came in, it was like he created the rhythm for the whole song. I'm actually excited about Teflon Don. I never thought I'd look forward to another Rick Ross album again, much less one with such a corny name.

The production on here is crisp and smooth. T.I. was perfect to set off the track with. Nice flow as usual. Badu sounds good on this track to me. Jada HURT this beat. The beat change is NO JOKE! Rick Ross SMASHES this track to pieces at the end. CLASSIC $HIT!

JL - AMAZING production I love the change of the melody before the Ross part. Jadakiss, Ross and T.I. were all good. Maybe I have to get used to Erykah's part but I think it wil grow on me. Anyway, classic.

Big song from the big man! Daym, T.I. sounds at home on this, Jada is so-so and Erykah is lost... hook doesn't quite do it... Production from J.U.S.T.I.C.E is just straight epic

Rick Ross has spent the last three years giving audiences one of the better album experiences hip-hop has on offer. And things look set to keep pace and standard. Or at least, that’s the indication the singles released (so far) gives.

Just like on "MM II" the composition makes the rhymes sounds more epic than they really are, but still, the lingual ability and rap flow is immediately applaudable, especially Rick Ross on last verse.

My favorite aspect of song is the way that instrumental claims center stage, negotiating it's way with vocals to the front of the mix. The hypnotic strings, the smooth bassline content to weave and dance below the drums/synths interplay and many subtleties which only become apparent after setting your iPod to repeat. It's beautiful, powerful and stirring in equal measure.

Then there are the contrast in moods between intro-verses-hook-outro; and of course, that cohesion; the feeling that every instrument has been meticulously worked on and perfected makes sure the track drags the fans, and silence all the doubters along whether they want to or not. Totally rad!!!

Ross has become my guilty pleasure emcee, but there's nothing guilty about this at all. Thanks to some absolutely cinematic production from Justice, this is simply one of the better tracks I've heard in a minute.

And I have to disagree with Z, I think Badu works well here, though she's certainly unexpected. No offense to Jada, he's a legend, but I might have dropped his verse and kept the track purely lush. Even the haters are going to have to admit Ross did it big here.

The production on this song is soooo doooppeee! Im not really a fan of T.I. but I think im becoming one, he killed this track. Jada did his thing, not his best verse though. Rick Ross is definitely stepping up his game. I dont know Z im feelin Erykah on this one.

J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League is one of the best in the game and like the other 2 maybach music songs, their production is the best part. Even the way they open and close songs is just so impressive. Everyone was good but T.I. stole the show. Jada and Erykah were nice but I would of prefered them taken off. Ross' next album should just be a whole album produced by J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League.

The J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League always supply Ross with epic production (as their name would suggest.) As much as I wanna hate on the simple lyrics, on tracks like this Rick's "Bawse" raspiness works perfectly. T.I.'s laid back demeanor and Kiss' confident flow work on the track. Badu is OK on the hook, but not great.

The track's dope. I think it would've been more concentrated with one MC and Erykah. I like the background vocals she puts in there and i'll bet if it were her and just one other person writing this, she'd have come with a totally different hook.

Wow! Maybach Music is "something else". Didn't expect Erykah Badu on the hook, but very refreshing to see. J.U.S.T.I.C.E League did their thang on that track. It could have come out with a little mini movie or something to go with this and other tracks. TI and Jada were top notch as usual. Rick Ross has come a long way from "Everyday I'm Hustlin'".

Side Bar: I saw a video that J.U.C.T.I.C.E League made about making tracks for the Maybach Music Series. I thought it was interesting because they said that they try to craft each section of verse to fit the artist that will be on it. I noticed an interesting change in the beat on this song right before Rick Ross's part came in at the end. Nice touch JL. Great attention to detail. Your steadily moving up the charts in my "Producer Faves List"

Say what you want about Ross, but the man has an ear for beats. When I saw T.I. on the track listing I had to laugh because I remember Ross dissing Tip 4-5 years ago. Gotta say T.I. continues his string killer features, too bad his singles are kind of weak.
Jada and Badu were ok, but Ross and Tip picked up the slack.
