After months of grinding, rapper/singer Flo-Rida’s hit single Low has climbed towards the top of the charts. Whereas Flo used the help of T-Pain and his characteristically-boxed voice to increase listenership for Low, fellow Floridian Rick Ross is doing the same with Flo-Rida on his new song, Street Money. Over a J-Rock beat (which bleeds Cool & Dre) Flo sings about the extra hustle needed to obtain ‘street money’ and Ross divulges that he is incapable of getting away from the glory days of his past. The collaboration between the two artists, unlike most these days, works on a number of levels. Their common roots foster harmony and should get them industry money.
I like these two artists, so don't get me wrong, but aren't all of these beats and all of Ross's flows more or less exactly the same in most songs he is in? anyone agree? and ANOTHER money song, I can jam to this, like I do to most 'generic' good rap songs, but I really am getting sick of all of these money songs, we know you are made of money, lets move on and talk about more serious things like 'racism' and 'your background' it is so much more interesting and respectful. I don't respect them for making a tune like this, it's sooo easy.
I just kept thinking of "Hustlin'" when I was listening to this song. Rick Ross is playing it the same way he did then. Anyways, I liked the other leaked songs and "Speedin'" better.
Rick Ross is what the game needs right now...When his voice comes in on the Track it is like a Blessing for the beat on this one. Good Job by Rick Ross! And I love the way Rappers are talking about nightmare on elm street lately. I have a thing for the entire series of movies and watch them often! LOL! Anyway, good track...definitely in rotation!
ROSS!! Yeah he flows the same, but tell me it aint tight?! Im likin this. Flo Rida comin out the gate strong. This go hard. londons finest...this track was not meant for racism or somebody background. This was meant for them 4 12s in the back of the crown vic.
fair enough son, but do you feel me when Im saying can these rappers become a little unoriginal for once? take the majority of Ross's songs, money money money, thats it. I like him as a rapper, but talent doesn't consist of talking about how much money you have, the only reason we all like this is because it has a good (but generic) beat, and flo rida makes it happen, plus we all like Rick's voice, but his flow is always the same, and the topic is always the same, Im just saying, something fresh for once would be a nice change...we all know that theyre millionaires.
Sooner or later everyone is going to get tired of Rick Ross's style. He structures his rhymes the SAME WAY for every single song he does and it just gets repetitive. What the hip-hop game really needs is diversity, and I don't see Ross putting out anything I haven't heard before. Street money, blah, blah...
Know What I'm doin is a 2006 song on Birdman & Lil Wayne's Like Father, Like Son album. Street Money sounds like a remix of that song. But guess what? It wasn't produced by J-Rock! So he should call himself J-Rock Tha plagiarist. TMIX is the one who should receive credit for this.
