Of all the rappers who were preparing to stuff your MP3 player this holiday season, did you expect Rick Ross to start giving away freebies? No? Well if The Source’s Man of the Year has any say, he’ll be climbing down chimneys with more of his Maybach Music for stocking stuffers. Ross has his Christmas mixtape Ashes to Ashes dropping on December 24, and on the tape’s first leak, 9 Piece, the Teflon Don sticks to his newfound niche: some menacing yet repetitive production from Lex Luger and a guest verse from someone with actual street cred. That guest? T.I., who delivers his standard hard-yet-too-cool styled verse while Ross dabbles in his usual lyrical assortment of hard to believe lines. Ross drops these so called gems like Santa dropping Christmas presents: “I’m sellin’ dope, straight off the iPhone.” “I’m double platinum just like my Ferarri!” (knowing full well that none of his albums have gone platinum). Oh well, if Ross can make “gangsta rap” fun in 2010 then who am I to play Grinch? Ashes to Ashes drops on Christmas Eve - happy holidays.

We've heard this before... it was just called something else. The rhymes, the production, and the guest verse are all very recycled. Sorry to ruin the holiday spirit, Rick.

Even for someone who's only heard minor weed drug talk, T.I. is clearly more legitimate when it comes to the dope game. Nice verse from Tip, same old same old from Ricky, and the beat was BMF lazily recycled.

Ross sounds the same on everything, and this beat is a generic hood beat, I hate it. T.I. was decent though.

Yeah yeah yeah, this is the same ol' Ricky but just as a mixtape record it's enjoyable. Both Rick and Lex Luger don't bring anything original to the table, but it's still catchy. T.I. was a nice add to the part but I'm a little confuse since I thought he was done with the gun talk. Good song but soon both Ricky and Lex need to switch up their styles.

Man i hate rick ross, but not in a haters way. Its just that i use to like it when he tryed, now he just lets out watever comes to his head and it still sounds alright….but he needs to start writing or typing again cuz this track could have been way better. Same for wayne.

I expected so much from this track. T.I couldn't hold this track on his shoulders unfortuntaly. The production was generic and Rick is getting lazy as hell behind the mic.

This sounds too much like BMF for me right now. It's still pretty cool, but they could have switched up the production a lil bit more. Rick Ross sounds pretty good on here. It's just not clicking for me as much as their other joints together (See Pledge Allegiance to the Swag). T.I. lays it down on the slow beat nicely. Something a bit different. Rotation...I'll definitely bump it in the car.
