Since he shared his excitement about the project in an April interview with our very own DJ Z, many fans have been eagerly awaiting Rich Boy‘s sophomore album, Buried Alive. Though it arrived a bit later than expected, the Booth has finally gotten its hands on the first buzz single. If Drop sounds a bit like Lil’ Wayne‘s A Milli, there’s a good reason for it; as the Mobile, Alabama native devotes one verse to his deep South audience and another to his adoring female fanbase, producer Cha-Lo mixes a vocal sample with heavy bass to Drop way down low. If this recycled combination isn’t your thing, don’t fret; Buried Alive will boast a wide variety of sounds when it is released in the second quarter of 2009.

and it has a sort of millie repetitive beat too it. The beat is crazy hot 5 stars and the lyrics are 3 stars overall this is a banger. This is a song that some people will hate and some people will love |

This beat is a lot more enjoyable than AMilli, which was unbearable! So, I don’t mind the recycling since it turned out to be BETTER! Rich Boy is one of the best in the above average league of rappers! I’m talking “Ghetto Rich” good: not as good as Nas or Lil Wayne but better than most of those below. Good flow and lyrics!

Wow... a song that has received 1's and 5's. That is rare.
I am not in love with this production, but Rich Boy is one of my favorite artists out of the south right now. "Drop" is solid, but is just intended as a buzz record. It serves its purpose.
