As Mobile, Alabama-native, Rich Boy prepares his sophomore album (tentatively titled Buried Alive), a better-late-than-never, remixed version of Ghetto Rich has been properly released. Following Throw Some D’s, Boy Looka Here, Good Things and Let’s Get This Paper, it is clear what direction RB will be taking with his music in 2008. Intact from the original are Rich’s first verse, the singing of John Legend and a sharp beat from Polow da Don; added to heighten the quality-level are two of the game’s best lyricists, Nas and Lil’ Wayne. Since the Heart of Dixie has been a centerpiece to African-American history, Rich Boy’s Southern roots are a fitting release to help kick off Black History Month.

Damn, Weezy lit it up. You can hear the pain in his voice, it's nice hearing him talk passionately about something other than eating, drinking, smoking, or having sex. Nas has a solid verse, I think Weezy makes this remix.

 i really liked the original song but this is one case where i think the remix is better and adds something to the original track...john legend is one of my favorite r&b singers (along with anthony hamilton) and his soulful voice goes along perfectly with the solemn theme of the song...not a huge lil wayne fan but he really really surprised me on here...he actually spoke about some substance...nas doesnt have the catchiest lines or typical verses but he can tell a story with the best of them...great track

Wow. This song is deep. I love this. I hope that Wayne verse is a sign of things to come with Carter III coming closer. I swear he just keeps getting better. He can change his flow to fit any song.

Ya I think Lil Wayne is the best MC on this song. That verse is unbelievable. He tells a story in such an unusual way. Nas' verse is great, but keep in mind that Nas sits down and writes all his bars down and edits them, whereas Weezy keeps all that shit stored in his head.

All three do amazing on this. This is classic stuff. Lil Wayne ripped that, but I love Nas so I have to shout out some special mentions for him. I love the chorus too, and Rich Boy was incredible on this too. Lots to say; everything positive.

Hell of a song. However, I'm dissapointed to see people leaving the props to Legend, Weezy, and Nas alone. Rich Boy rips this song and I wish people would recognize him as well. That being said, I think is probably my favorites Wayne verses, hits so hard.

All i gotta say is this song has touched me in so many ways, and is such a great inspiration to little kids out there who do live in the ghetto, and are scared to walk out there front door.
Its sad to watch kids go threw so much pain, and so much sorrow.Parents just dont understand how things have changed so much since there time. Time have changed, and if somebody doesnt do something, it will get worse, and thats the last thing we need. P.s Sorry for the kids who have been growing up watching there friends die. |
