Redman is quite a versatile artist. Between getting Dirrty with Xtina, and being stabbed to death by a killer doll in the film Seed of Chucky, Red has found success in a number of mediums. But with Put it Down, the Timbaland-produced single from his sixth studio album, Red Gone Wild, Redman reminds us of what he does best. This catchy cut has Timbaland’s trademark electronica sound all over it, and is quite infectious. The only question is whether or not Redman will see JT numbers?
of course Red won’t see JT numbers, JT’s a smooth white boy, and Red’s the dirtiest MC in the game (remember his Cribs episode)? This single is blowin up radio right now.
This beat is straight. You cannot compare Redman and JT. JT has white america behind him and some black folks in his corner. The boy can sing. And the comparison is baseless because we are talking about two different genre of music. I have to admit that I like JT and I will always be a redman listener.
Editor’s Note: The author of this feature was not comparing Redman with Justin Timberlake. The comparison that was made was in regard to the beatmaking ability of Timbaland, and the success the artists who have used his beats have shared.
Red has a tight track n datz all dat needz 2 b said.. WTF give a F bout JT… the only thing they have in common is that both have sick beats n great lyrics on all der tracks n dat is how itz goin 2 stay!
