Really Doe - Marvelous
Artist: Really Doe
Producer: Jaye Jeffers
Album: First Impressions
Label: Cartel Records
Sometime around 1996, a small underground group formed in Chicago; composed of Kanye West, GLC, and Really Doe, the Go Getters released only one local album but, when Kanye made it big and started G.O.O.D. Music, he quickly signed his former groupmates. While GLC is still on G.O.O.D. Music, waiting to release his debut, Really Doe decided to jump over to marketing director Griffin Guess’ Cartel Records so he could drop his own solo set sooner. With his debut LP’s release later this month, the emcee will finally get to make his First Impressions on the listening public. On the LP’s newly-released third single, Really finds a woman for whom he’s willing to turn in his players’ card and commit. And why shouldn’t he? She’s too Marvelous to pass up! Featuring an uncredited gospel-style hook and a piano-percussion beat by Jaye Jeffers, this track is sure to get repeat spins from fans of the “classic ‘Ye sound.” If you fall into that category, you’re sure to find more to like on RD’s debut LP, out August 18th.

I'm glad that Really is taking a leap of faith (in a way) and going out on his own for this debut release. I like his charismatic flow and this beat is bananas.

Really Doe has been on my radar for a few months and this song doesnt suprise me at all. The production on this is top quality and the soul type beat fits his lyrics really well. The hook especially sets a great tone for the song. His lyrics arent amazing but his storytelling is great on this track and you can hear his passion for the game. This will def get plays for me. Dope song!

This wasn't bad. Nothing that really stands out, but a solid track. Production was enjoyable though and the hook was nice.

I'll give it a 2.5 and round up to even it out wit that1kid13... I feel the same way, that his flow was a little wierd. I did like his style and would like to hear more from him, and the production was cool.

Doe could rap over sneezes and it would still be in rotation. Relentless flow on here, can't wait for more.

Still unsure what this song missin to be a banger! maybe its just that I cant label his voice/delivery "smooth-flowing" as it should have been in my opinion to match the whole vibe of the track. But, well, what do i know ... haha

the verses do seem rushed, or something, but whateer it is, I don't like it. But the chorus is lovely. the beat and chorus save the song bigtime.
