Razah - Let The Music Play
Artist: Razah
Producer: Info
Album: Unreleased
Label: Just Us Music Group
When he introduced himself to the Booth with Rain back in November of ‘07, Razah had just inked a deal with Def Jam and was preparing to drop his self-titled debut later that year. Less than a year later, the Jamaica/Brooklyn representative realized that he wasn’t feeling comfortable with the direction the label wanted him to go, so now he’s enjoying free agent status while waiting for someone to come along with a better deal. In the meantime, he’s sent the Booth a previously-unreleased track that might help that new contract come sooner than later. Enjoying a night out at his favorite club, Razah asks the DJ to stay cool and Let The Music Play as he puts the moves on a willing shorty. Complete with a high-energy beat by Info, Let The Music Play is sure to inspire similar scenarios anywhere it gets rotation—if any label execs happen to be in attendance, a bidding war may even break out on the spot!

I thought this was a flo rida joint at first. But I'm really feeling the RnB + club thing he has going on.

I thought of Flo Rida at first too. It sounded like a beat he could tear up. Razah was pretty good on here, though. An enjoyable cut.

Razah's been on my radar a for a while; never really a fan but always enjoyed his music. It's a shame he lost the record deal; "Rain" was a strong single. The beat on this one is good, lyrics are good, voice is decent. Can't really find anything wrong with this one here but I can't push that "Classic" status; banger for sure though.

His vocals are nice I cant deny that but this production is a little too generic for me. The synths sound way too much like recent tracks I've heard. Solid song still dude needs to get signed

A little more uptempo for Razah but the beat is sick and the vocals are solid. Honestly, i think the only weakness is the title, other than that, completely kick ass.

Kudos to Razah for walking away from his Def Jam deal due to artist integrity issues. Not many artists do that these days. This is likely a record he recorded previously, but the timing is great. I think this really showcases his vocal abilities (but not his range).
Nice production work by "INFO" as well - if you are "INFO" get at me... haha. |

Wow not many artists would walk away from a Def Jam record deal. But he's got talent and shows it here, shouldn't be long before he gets signed. It works for the clubs! Let the music play

THis is teh kind of song I would usually like, but not this time. I really like the production, but I wasn't a fan of the melody, or his vocals. The vocals weren't bad, I just didn't like them.

Not a bad joint, not my cup of tea but he sounds good, beat is decent and the hook is radio ready, when he says "Let the music play" it reminds me of a sample from an 80's song but i cant put my finger on it.

I'm really diggin this, it's catchy and extremely energetic. He sings well (I have liked him also in other songs) and the melody is fresh and cheerful! Will be a banger!

It's good but lacks some more original flavor... verses were kinda repetitive.
