Once the song begins to play you’ll notice that it’s a collaborative effort, featuring Konvict crooner Ray Lavender on the hook. And while the track was never pushed as a single off Epiphany, it has been resurrected for placement on Ray L’s forthcoming self-titled debut. In addition to renaming his album (formerly titled X-Rayted), the Atlanta native reworked the T-Pain production, writing two full verses to compliment his previously-penned hook. Accompanying his current radio single, Stay (for which he just shot a video), Put It Down shows off Ray’s vocal abilities, in addition to capturing his talents as a song-writer.
This sounds like hit potential. T-Pain's flow is always full of energy. Ray-L's vocals ain't bad. But he don't look like he would sound like that...weird

dis isn't betta den thee original but it hot ...n shood get ray L some more attention after "girl's gotta girlfriend" none of his stuff was close tocomparison this mayb the hit to help get himsum shine i kno the labels desperate now cuz then recycled this joint for him....which in my opinon was a smart move.
yup i remember the original 2 this,one of the slow songs i du like from t-pain as well as blow ur mind definate smooth track for the ladies and even better with the added extra verses Ray L putting it down 4sho on this..
I still don't think Ray Lavender is a very strong rnb artist, not sure if it's just me but his singing just doesn't work for me. This is actually a good track and I have a vague recollection of it from the t-pain album. I would say it's a very smart move for him since it's a good sounding track, and the 'modifications' were what he needed to make his song his own. The track has a good beat and has the elements to make it popular on the radio.

This song was already hot but now since it has Ray L its even better... Ray L kinda sorta sounds like Trey songs in a way.... He has his own style though, this song is off the chain...

This song sounds like an old r and b song (w/o the T-Pain) verse. Like an old maybe Dru Hill or somebody like that. I like it though it's iight. T-Pai is F_I_R_E, with or without the voice box.
i like this, alot. i wouldnt play it constantly cuz rnb don usually do tht for me, but its an excellent song. only in rotation but giving it 4 for the quality music
i like this song on t-pain album better. on this song and girl gotta girlfriend t-pain version was way better than ray l version. i think ray l should be more original with his song sample. i give the original song a 4.5 stars but i subtract 1 for this song so i give this song 3.5 stars
The T-Pain Epiphany album is one of my all-time favorites and i thought it was really underrated. I think i liked the original better. Never really thought of this song as a single so it surprises me. It was a transition song to me. But it not too much worse than the original. A little too slow.
