Ray J - Last Wish
Artist: Ray J
Producer: Darkchild
Album: Raydiation II
Label: KO Entertainment/Fifth Amendment
On the lead single off his ‘06 junior LP, Ray J shared the One Wish he’d ask to be granted, if he came across a genie in a magic lamp: to be forever united with the girl he’s loved since they both were kids. Roughly five years later, the crooner has returned to offer an update: while he did indeed win her heart for the short term, the “forever” part proved to be tougher than he’d imagined. Thus, he’s got one Last Wish to make. Darkchild rejoins Ray behind the boards, crafting a synth-infused reimagining of the original’s piano-led beat as the singer once again pours out his feelings to that special lady, explaining that, although their relationship’s entered troubled waters, he’s not ready to give up – promising to become a better man, he implores her to keep faith. Will their love weather the storm? Unless Ray decides to make One Wish into a trilogy, we may never know for sure. As for how the song has held up over the years, that’s for you to determine. Those digging it should don their Hazmat suits and prepare to receive a second dose of Raydiation in February of 2011, when the singer’s fifth album hits stores.

Ray J is an alright singer, but his work is undoubtedly always elevated when he works with Darkchild. Ditto for his big sister, Brandy.
"Last Wish" isn't better than the original "One Wish," but sequels usually fail to meet the acclaim of their predecessors. This record might get some radio-play for Ray J, but ultimately it will be a forgettable addition to his catalog. |

One Wish is the only song I've evered like from Ray J. After hearing this...it hasn't changed. Darkchild's beat saves this from being horrible but Ray just sucks as a singer.
Sorry if that sounds harsh but I just can't take his voice. I've heard worst singers but there's nothing special about this song that makes him listenable. |

Ray J is too washed up to continue making music. The reality shows lost Ray J a couple of respect points for me and the auto tune he attempts in some of his songs really makes me wanna scream. I don't think this was terrible, but not very good is definitely a more appropriate term. Production was fire, though. Anyone other than Ray J, and this is instantly a banger at least. Lyrics weren't even that bad, but Ray J has to go.

One wish was SICK!!!! One of my favorite R&B joints ever actually. DarkChild is one of the Greatest Producers of all time in the world of R&B. When you put them together, you just can't miss. I am really looking forward to this new Ray-J album with all DarkChild's beats and Ray-J's vocals, it should be a definite Winner. If its anything like this track, then we should be GOOD! Ray J has an EXCELLENT voice which is always on display here. Definitely feelin this. BANGER $hit!

not nas good as part 1, but to compare the 2 isnt a wise idea. the first one was superb and cant be matched. by itself, this is a good song.

I like it. Ray J sounds better when there is not a guest on his track.
