Back in July ‘08, Ras Kass made his DJBooth debut with B.I.B.L.E., a mixtape cut that took a critical beating not because of poor musical quality, but rather to the rapper’s Christian-baiting rhymes. A lot can change in a year, though; as indicated by Dutch R&B singer’s Neenah‘s rendition of Amazing Grace on the intro and chorus of this new cut (the second leak off the rapper’s forthcoming Quarterly mixtape), the street vet’s finally seen the light—of course, Kass hasn’t cast himself as the poor wretch in need of guidance, but as the Amazing guy bringing salvation to the game. Over Veterano‘s densely-layered mix of vocal samples and midtempo percussion, the rapper comes with plenty of irreverently clever nose-tweaking, this time tempering his messianic rhetoric with celebrity-directed wisecracks that walk the line between off-color and hilariously absurd (i.e., “I could moonwalk across the ocean, getting j*rked off by Lady GaGa, no lotion.”) Listeners who like their punchline lyricism witty and contentious are sure to enjoy this cut—if that’s the case, keep it locked to our front page for more on Quarterly, tentatively scheduled for release in Q3.

Its funny that i have 3 seperate songs on my mp3 player, all called "Amazing". I don't think this will be joining ma playlist, but this wud go in rotation.

Leave it up to Ras to sample AMAZING GRACE. Dude is probably one of the MOST slept on artists of all-time in rap. Part of that has to do with the fact he spent time behind bars and on an extra long hiatus because of label issues. I am looking forward to his new mixtape.

Lyrically, there's no shortage of dopeness to go around ... Set to a beat that moves slowly but purposefully like heavy machinery ... But Neenah's voice on the track didn't grab me and hold me that much ...

Good song!
I'd like to hear a more musically oriented delivery from Ras though, it's like his voice doesn't need the beat. Sound angry, ok, but do it in shape of music! |

JOHN ELWAY GOTTA SUPERBOWL RING... Ya'll remember that? I doubt it, Rasskass has been doin his thing out here for a long while. Never got his due. Whooo, Lady GaGa doing what to ya? lol That line alone gets a star. I'm not feeling the beat too much, but who cares cause he is making a fool out of the English language on this shit.

i'm not gunna lie i pretty much hate listening to this song cause it simply isn't pleasant to the ears, however rass kass is such a beast on the microphone lyrically i'm forced to. one of the best lyracist ever , but this just isn't my song

The singer on this single from Rass Kass is not the 13 year old American singer Neenah, it's singer,rapper and producer Neenah from Amsterdam, Netherlands!!! She worked with a lot artist already.
