Only Ras Kass would have the stones to critique religion over a beat that samples a gospel song. That’s precisely what he does on B.I.B.L.E., his new single, which discusses the inconsistencies of fundamentalism. While most of his anger is aimed towards Christianity, it’s clear that when it comes to his rants, he aim is more like a machine gunner than a sniper; everyone from George Bush to Jason from Laguna Beach catches heat. He caps it all off with an audio clip of Jon Stewart interviewing an evangelical-turned-heathen, showing us that Kassian salvation isn’t too far around the corner. Producer Da Riffs is responsible for the hymn-like beat. B.I.B.L.E. will appear on his next project, Institutionalized Vol. 2, due August 5th.
I'm a fan of Rass Kass because of his lyrical skills and he showed off nice on this controversial track. Hip Hop is all about keeping it real and speaking your mind and thats what he did here. The beat went perfect with the story he told. This is a soild track sounds like something Nas would do.
Demoniic, What are u on man? I like the production, However as christian, and a sinner, I will have a bias opinion . However this was insightful. I personally think he did a good job for the most part!
DA RIFFS IS FRIGGIN' INSANE FOR THIS BEAT....RAS KASS DID NICE ON THE LYRICS..BUT THE WHOLE B.I.B.L.E(BASIC INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE LEAVING EARTH)THING IS USED AS THE CHORUS FOR A KILLA PREIST SONG ALSO TITLED B.I.B.L.E..OTHER THEN THAT THE TRACK IS PRETTY GOOD
WOW:), it depends on how you look at it. (I think of it more as anti-hypocritical fundamentalism than anti-Christianity). Is the beat your only factor in rating music? (Not even your being pissed will stop me from voicing my opinion...we're still waiting for you to upload a pic and add specific info to your profile like you said you would sometime eventually)
The sample was hot. I wonder if that's a Shirley Caesar sample. When the beat comes in, it's wack. This atheist can go somewhere. Sounds like a satanist to me. I can't even cosign. This guy needs Jesus. Plus, Jesus wasn't black or white dummies. He was jewish and dark skinned. That means he probably looked more like Osama Bin Laden. He wasn't a Eurpoean White Jesus or an African American Jesus, so both ideas are wrong and ignorant. How about just trusting in God and Christ truthfully. Religion is irrelevant. Christ IS relevant. The world is lost until they figure that out. Enough said.
at least he aint sitting on the "fence"...has always been controversial...actually its quite relevant cos religion(peoples inability to reconcile their religious differences)is the reason the world is in the state its in...lucifer be kickin this in hades...lmao
lol. I actually know the song he's sampling... LOL this song makes me laugh... michael you are right it is shirley ceasar.
I thought this would be a basic instruction before leaving earth song.
I don't understand what they say, but I'm happy they don't talk only about booty, sexy chick, b*tch and money...the song itself isn't super, at least I don't like it very much! But maybe they focused on the lyrics
Quit telling me to go preach somewhere. I'm talking. Preachers are found in churches on stage. I'm just speaking the truth. Maybe if people weren't so atheist and actually believed in something, you'd understand. How the heck do people just go day to day worshiping themselves?
song is weak... ill-informed ranting over a barely decent sample. why do you religious ppl get all up in arms when someone as obviously ignorant as this criticizes your beliefs?
Okay, I like the song. I dont agree with the lyrics being that I believe in God and the Bible and all that! However, I have to give it to em. He is a lyricist and he put his demo down quite well. Never strayed from his subject, spit what is known to some as facts, the beat was on point, loved the gospel twist! yeah, he pulled it off! (GOD forgive me for liking this song. It has nothing to do with the fact that I believe any of the things he says. I just like the way he delivered his opinion! amen)
Is it possible that Ras Kass is against the Christian RELIGION! and not Jesus??? Being a Christian myself, I can understand how it can seem like it's all about money but I still keep my faith. I just think Ras is against the religion, not God. I would've given it a better rating, but I don't, like many Christians, agree with every lyric that he spits... he's still my favorite artist on the mic though.
