Anyway, the Kooley High femcee’s latest effort is a lyrical slice of life, with Khrysis’ mellow sampled production bumping in the background as the North Carolina native fills us in on the difficult but rewarding nature of her grind; though her day-to-day is a financial struggle, there’s nowhere she’d rather be than in the studio, “...workin’ for pay, tryin’ to make some classic music for my children to lay.” Rapsody’s Blankin’ Out partner rejoins her on the front, lacing the beat with some “sniper-type flows,” and First in Flight State repper HaLo rounds out the lineup, “planting the seeds” for future success in a vivid closing verse. Rapsody is on a collision course with stardom. The vibe - as member Fisdj points out - is excellent and worthy of several listens. Mac impresses, too.

What a great vibe this track has. Khrysis provides a smooth, cleanly produced venue for all three rappers to spit on. Rapsody and Miller really stand out. Its good to see a woman on the mic who can really rap, and doesnt have show off, or talk about, her body in order to make a name for herself.

Her choice of beats winI thought after Blankin Out it couldn't get it any better, she proved me wrong. If it works let it flow and teaming back up w/ Mac Miller WORKS. HaLo holds his own but magic happens at 2:11. Rapsody makes me proud.

I heard this track over on 2dopeboyz, saw the video for it a few days ago & it's dope! Rapsody has to be on my up-and-coming list of artists I'm excited about hearing more from. I love that she is obviously a fan of Hip Hop & the culture, that sounds common but it's not and you can hear it in a lot of MC's lines.
I'm NOT a fan of Mac Miller, what I have heard from him (just a few tracks) has been throwaway garbage but his presence on this track is nice! I'm feeling the beat definitely, and everything about this track is nice. Give it a listen! |
