9th Wonder

Rapsody is the type of female who sits quietly in the front row of your class and steady gets good grades. But if you ever make the mistake of picking on her, she’ll embarrass you with the quickness and ferocity of a black panther by just using her words. Better yet, she’ll school you like Betty Shabazz would. In the Brian Petchers-directed video for a new single off of the deluxe edition of Jamla Is The Squad, Rap flexes her lyrical muscles as she is portrayed as the wife of civil rights activist Malcolm X. Then two minutes in, the soulful production from 9th Wonder breaks into a cold bassline that better fits the North Carolina native’s intimidating lines. Mrs. Shabazz would be proud. You can catch more heat from the Jamla signee with last month’s well-received visual for Thank You Very Much.
