Few could deny that we’re living in a fascinating period in history, but with the war and poverty that plague the globe, can we really call these Marvelous Times? Rain thinks so and, after listening to Gimmie, the reason for his cheery outlook becomes crystal clear: he’s been having a downright marvelous time in the sack. The first leaked track off the North Carolina up-and-comer’s forthcoming street album finds Rain flowing over his own exotic, Bollywood-sampled boardwork, complete with a catchy, creatively misheard hook. The X-rated subject matter should catch listeners’ interest, but it’s Rain’s polysyllabic rhymes and witty wordplay that truly demand attention: “She need it like oxygen/ she get it poppin’ after sippin lot’s ‘o’ gin.” If Gimme leaves you thirsty for more new tunes, you can look forward to a figurative Rainstorm in early 2010, when Life In Marvelous Times hits the ‘net. In the meantime, keep your eyes on the sky (and our front page) for further trickles of new material from the Booth-acclaimed up-and-comer.

Got some skilled flow there fella, the beat is chilled out, relaxed and head boppin' too, although must say never been a fan of the 'Egyptian' singin' sorta beatz (example: Eminem) Although must say this one isn't too bad, Rain delvers

At first the production pushed me away..as the song developed it settled with me. Once that was out of the way his flow suited fine.

I've been a big fan of these Bollywood-influenced productions. As Aussie_Accents said in his feedback, its something about the head-nod factor. Rain's flow is smooth, but I think the hook could have been more powerful.

LMAO "sucking her own nipples, I promise I got a winner", goddamn dude...SMASH!

I'm with Z on this one. That beat is ridiculous, but, I actually enjoyed the hook (Rain harmonizing with the sample, almost).

Not bad, in my opinion.

Damn! Playas be these days looping samples form where ever and what ever they can get their hands on to. It features a vocal sample from a Tollywood flick (Indian regional language movies) but I gotta say Rain flipped it with skill and intelligence into a catchy beat.

Verses were pretty cool but the hook-writing could've used some improvement. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the beat AND the lyrics ... BANGER!!!

Wow, a sexual Twitter reference. It is marvelous times we're living in. I'll echo Z, the production is walnuts, and Rain flows well over it, even if he doesn't exactly bring any real originality.

Wait, "She's sucking her own nipples"? Is that the line? How big are this girls nipples/how long is her tongue? What? These are the questions that need to be answered.

I agree wit most of the comments so far, the track is rotation worthy for me. The production is cool, and that sample adds somethin different to it. His flow and wordplay was cool, but the hook could have been a little better.
