In the R&B/Neo-Soul world, Raheem DeVaughn is a familiar name with a loyal following and a level of critical acclaim most singers can only dream of. DeVaughn didn’t make it this far by thinking inside the box and, true to form, the singer spends his latest single addressing topics many of his peers wouldn’t touch. Leaked in January but presented here in its finished form, the track finds Raheem showcasing his strong voice as he decries social irresponsibility and warns against, “...living like we’re Bulletproof.” Backed by Kenny ‘‘Dope’’ Gonzalez’ sweeping boardwork and topped off with a guest verse by “Mr.Feature” himself, Ludacris, this positive-minded cut will leave listeners ready to change the world for the better. Raheem’s hotly-anticipated third album, Love & War: The MasterPeace, still has yet to receive a solid release date, but, if Bulletproof is any indication of the project’s quality, it’ll be well worth the wait.

he pulled a noel gourdin and took it waaaayy back with the sound lol. its nice and smooth.
i didnt know this was his 3rd album! wow. where have i been? but yeah this is a good song. his singing is always appreciated and nice. wish i cud hear him live. |

I remember when this record leaked in January. I spoke with Raheem's manager and he said, "It isn't official, but it will be!" Finally, we get the final version- well worth the wait. Beautiful R&B.

Raheem DeVaughn is back with a new single and an album on the way. His last album, Love Behind The Melody, was a personal favorite of mine (and it is also the album that introduced me to him). He is such an amazing artist.
As for Luda, he, of course, delivers another pounding, energetic guest feature verse. Definately the most consistent and the best feature rapper in the game. He was the highlight of this track for me, but RD did his thing. I like the part where he repeatedly says, "Bang, bang, bang." Raheem is one of the few singers that can actually make such a simple phrase sound so soulful. Banger, easily. |

Love the song and the whole concept too. Raheem is a great artist because he just doesn't sing about lust or love. He knows how to make joints that people are gonna remember. Luda always elevates records and was for sure a good plus.
