Featured earlier this month, Only Built for Cuban Linx II street single House of Flying Daggers made one fact blindingly clear: when Wu-Tang emcees get together over a beat by the late, great J. Dilla, a spectacular record—and rave Booth reviews—are sure to follow.  With the hotly-anticipated LP’s September 8th arrival only a couple short weeks away, Raekwon the Chef‘s back to serve up a leaked track that, though not quite as star-studded as his last feature, will undoubtedly succeed on the same principle.  10 Bricks finds Rae, Ghostface, and Wu affiliate Cappadonna linking up to deliver a triple-helping of classic, vividly-rendered street storytelling over Jay Dee’s vintage backdrop—this time around, the iconic beatsmith’s boardwork centers around a repeated plucked-string sample whose tension never quite finds release.  Rae’s musical recipe seems to yield choice cuts time and time again, and, sequel or no, Cuban Linx II is shaping up to be one hell of a feast.

Raekwon was truly blessed (as he points out himself in our interview) when he was given access to Dilla's production work. It's a damn shame the two men were not able to get into a studio and collaborate together on this project. Rae sounds at home on this beat - something RZA usually does for him.

Raekwon sounded great on this Dilla production. Ghostface came hard too. I hope this album is sick. I feel like there is some negativity around Raekwon lately since he jumped Budden, but I bet this album is sick.

WHOA!!! This sh*t is vintage WU. Raekwon bouncin' all over the track, Cappadonna with the slang, GFK bullying the beat and putting the beat in a headlock with his undeniable energy and force ... And that production is on some other level. The plucked-string sample used on the melody seduces you into the track, making you nod your head while you enjoy the group's well crafted Wu-lyrics ... BANGER!!!

Straight heat...I agree, it's too bad that J Dilla (RIP) didn't have more time in the studio longer with Rae or other artists for that matter.

The Chef one of the best to ever do it. Sick lyrics and flow. J Dilla's beats are fire. I still have Jay Stay Paid in rotation in my car.

J Dilla's production on this track was crazy. This album is not just gonna be some hyped up album who's title is the sequel to the Chef's 1995 debut. I believe that Rae is really putting in work on this (Can't say the same for Twista's Adrenaline Rush 2007).

I would love to see Raekwon come back to making classic music like the orginial Only Built for Cuban Linx.

Ghost came hard like I expected and it's a real shame to hear Dilla's beats and how dope they are but he's gone now.

At leat before he left, he could still punch out some dope music.
