Once the sole domain of major cities like New York and Los Angeles, over the last decade hip-hop fans have learned that dope music can come from anywhere, including a city known more for its bright lights than beats and rhymes, Las Vegas. The next emcee to build Sin City’s burgeoning reputation is Radio Ramone, a young, ambitious and undeniably talented emcee making his DJBooth debut today with Testify, an appropriately soulful hip-hop testimonial to the power of the mic. While a slowly hitting beat from producer Mr. Kooman loops in the background, Ramone wastes no time showing the world the depth of his lyrical ability: “I am talkin bout fact while they talk about shinin’, if you bright than I’m an eclipse.” With lines like that it’s only a matter of time before Las Vegas becomes one of the nation’s gambling hip-hop capitols. Testify is the lead single off Radio Ramone’s debut mixtape Therapy Sessions, dropping Friday, January 15 on RefinedHype.com.

I wasn't actually too crazy about his flow but he did have some creative lyrics in there. The hook needs work as well though. Someone from LV needs to blow up haha. I'll give it a 2.5, but give him the benefit of the doubt though and round up.

Real strong introduction to yet ANOTHER talented emcee from Vegas. Since I'm a a betting man, i'll say that by the end of the year we will have our first on-the-cusp-of-mainstream artist from LV. Could it be Ramone? Yes.

Ramone's young, and like all young emcees he's got some growing to do, but in the immortal words of Mel Kiper Jr, the kid's got tremendous upside potential. I'm stoked to hear more.

Solid verses over the melodically smooth beat punctuated by vocal samples and rolling baseline. I agree, hook could use some more... depth. 2.5 and I'll round up.

I agree hook is simple. But I think it goes perfect with the flow. This is a hip hop head classic. I want to hear more from this guy!
