There is only one performer in the entire music industry that can recycle his own previously-released analogies, melodies or beats and still make a hit record; his name is R. Kelly. Late last week, a song entitled Kiss Your Candy swept through online message boards faster than Amy Winehouse’s last stay at a rehab facility. The concept of the song is self-explanatory, but just to make things clear; Kells isn’t talking about tootsie rolls or dum dums. Following similar songs such as Sex in the Kitchen, Sex Planet and Sweet Tooth, many listeners might be tired of Kelly’s food/sex-novelty. However, before you make a judgment call, see if you can go 24 hours without humming the melody to Kiss Your Candy.
Haha, Sucrose, with your name it's kinda funny how you wouldn't like a track entitled 'Kiss Your Candy'. Anyways, this track has the generic kells feel, but yet, it's so damn catchy and I can't hate on that. It has a bit of an island swing going on with it... I feel this has what it takes to go on rotation, and a remix would be interesting.
Only R. Kelly can get away with singing a song like this. This will definitely be on the radio. A remix is probably in progress as I write this comment. I can't stop laughing at the lyrics. Did I hear a voice box in this song? Man ... I need one.
This is of course awesome. I wonder if he is coming out with an album soon... isn't it a little early - plus his court date is on the horizon. Anyways, no has can match the level R. Kelly works at and his catalog of albums and songs proves this. Melody is his blood and he just spits them out with what seems like no effort; lets just ignore his personal life.
I kind of like the smooth and playful sound of the song. I really see the innovation in this track. The chorus is very simple and catchy. I think kids everywhere will be singing this track once it comes out...I don't know if that's a good thing coming from Kells or not now-a-days...
R. Kelly always kills it man. One of the best singers out there I'd say, I like Tyrese a little more. That picture is sick too. Can't complain about this song at all, crazy durty analogies and a beat with a caribbean feel. I like it, well produced, sung, and written.
eh....another after party type jam that you hear playin in a hotel party watching lapdances in the corner..just something that you hear in the background but arent really paying attention or listening to..
I can see how you guys might feel that way, but from a DJ standpoint, this song is like. The beat is mixable, and the pant' is simple. This is a down-tempo song, finding a mixable Hiphop/RB song that is downtempo is like finding a needle in haystack... on mars. Use this is a good transition from a straight up R&B track, to faster mainstream track. Pitch match on B side....if this is out on vinyl I may have some fun next week =)
Its like Michael Jackson , we may think Kellz is crazy and sick , but when it comes to music you can understand why those guys are true Superstars ! We are supposed to be judging music not the artist right??? The song is Hott! Hiphop Will Not DIE !
don't get me wrong, I love R.Kelly and have been a fan for years, BUT the last few years he has been producing horrible music! There were only a few good songs on Double Up, all his songs sound the same or he keeps making gangsta r&b music! why use a voice box when u can sing so good, and can he make a song without talking about sex for once!
