Since finishing the last leg of his nationwide Double Up Tour, R. Kelly has been busy in the studio recording his new album, 12 Play: 4th Quarter. In what will be the last chapter (then again, with Kelly you never know) of his 12 Play album series (12 Play,TP2.com, TP3: Reloaded), the Chicagoan has kicked off the campaign with the new single Hair Braider. Using the never-going-to-die-vocoder effect, Kelly sings about tipping his hair stylist similar to his strippers. Produced by up-incoming production duo Tha Bizness (J-Hen and Dow Jones), who have worked with will.i.am, Young Buck, and Ky-Mani Marley to name a few, Hair Braider should pave the way for Kelly’s album release this summer.
R. Kelly dropping the voice box on us. It was only a matter of time. Kels knows how to take the most basic words and subject matter and turn it into a creative chef d'oeuvre. Chill beat and singing.
its aight. its kinda what i expected from him before i even heard the song. can't wait to listen to some other songs from this album. funny thing is no matter what r kelly does people still like him or do they just like his music. i don't know. its aight, i'll put it in ratation
first i think its time for us to destroy the vocoder bcuz it getting old quick..........im not feeling this song but i like the feel of the beat, kels drop the ball on this, but i can gurantee kels come through big on his new album like always
BEFORE I EVEN LISTEN TO THIS SONG I LOVE IT! IT'S ROBERT KELLY 4 GOD SAKE HE NEVER EVER DISAPPOINTS EVER. SO CREATIVE HE CAN SING ABOUT KISSING A B*TCHS RAZOR BUMPS ON HER SNATCH AND THAT SHIT WOULD BE A HIT... CANT NOBODY ELSE DO THAT.
OKAY SO HE DIDNT NEED THA VOICEBOX THA WHOLE SONG BUT ON SOME PARTS IT FIT AND OKAY ITS NOT HIS BEST I MEAN HE'S GOIN FROM HER DOIN HAIR TO STRIPPIN' WAT IS REALLY GOIN ON IM GLADE MY MAN AINT GOT NO BRAIDS CUZ THESE HAIR BRAIDERS OUT OF CONTROL HUH??? I AGREE NOT HIS BEST BUT NOT HIS WORST EITHER THA THIS SHOULD DEFF NOT B THE SINGLE TO LAUNCH THIS ALBUM... HE NEEDS TO COME HARDER LIKE SUM SAID USHER IS ON HIS WAY. I THINK THE VIDEO -ITSELF- AND A REMIX IS WAT WILL MAKE THIS SONG WAT IT WILL BE IF THAT...
Well as i said before only person i can respect with the vocoder is t pain thats his style he mastered it he makes hit with it every other artist trying it out should stick to mixtapes because this is not so good now if kelz was making a mixtape i can see this on there if not leave the vocoder to t pain please but kelz will come out good on the album i kno it
i think everyone should do song with a voice box sound just to get piss everone who keeps talkin bout t-pain like he's the fkin inventer of the voice box .... this song is ight in rot!
This track is CLASSIC R.Kelly right here. Really smooth track and he just continues to prove why he is the Godfather of R&B! Good beat and even better lyrics! I am feeling it!
I guess this shit is cool. A lot of females braid hair these days. Personally, I think he is doing too much T-Pain or is it T-Pain is trying to be like Kellz.
Its cool though
I mean R.Kelly is my BUE so of course Imma love this song. His album need 2 drop already......Imma be the 1st one 2 cop dat jumpoff. I really LoVe that guy. O_M_Goodness!!!!
Signing Out: ~Krissy a.k.a. MrsZ. R. Kelly!!!!
Holla At ME!!!!!
Clearly R Kelly is just f**kin with everyone at this point. In case you haven't noticed, he's apparently determined to figure out just how ridiculous he can make his songs (hello Sex Zoo) and still have people buy his album. Well, Kells has suceeded again. I give it 2 stars for musical quality, and an additional star because he's the only artist alive who could pull off a song called "hairbraider."
I'm so biased against R. Kelly. There are a few songs that I love (Step in the name of love, U saved me, etc.) but all the other childish/immature topics -- i can't stand. This song reminds me of R.Kelly trying to be a youthful individual.
I think he's just paving the way to express yourself on the R&B tip. I'm sure he'll reinvent the way one expresses love, hurt, happiness, faithfulness, etc. He's been in the game for a long time and has the freedom to switch it up. He's crooning but in a different style. Nevertheless, the R in R&B will make cuts for all the fans that continue to listen to his songs. I'll say it first... he will produce/coordinate "You will know" updated version pretty soon.
I've been listening to this over and I like it much better than I did the first time. I can hear this song coming on at the club having everybody dancing slow and signing the words. I'm not a fan of the vocoder because he's voice is tight enough but oh well.
R Kelly just dont have nothin to write about so he makes a song called hairbraider. He needs to take a break and come back with some more innovative shit..this is rididculous!!
Basura! Are you kidding me?? Hairbraider??? What the hell.. Man Kelly is wack.. He sounds the same all the time.. Same sh%t always.. He is better on remix's...
R. Kelly is that nigga even though it's going to take a while for me to get used to that new hair style but hey still R. Kelly taking over bitches, King of R&B, the R in R&B
A picture of Kelly with golden blond hair was posted on his MySpace page recently, but his rep swears that the R. hasn't gone Sisqó on us. The look was specifically created for the video, which was shot in Chicago a couple of weeks ago.

Why does he have to make mediocre bullshit? He's talented...he just wants to sell ringtones. Destroying the music industry, "cheeking" it for up-and-coming African American artists.
I'm convinced! R.Kelly can get away with anything musically! Look at his catalog! I beileve I can fly and Step in the name of love.in one hand Feelin on ya booty and you remind me of my jeep in the other! now the guy who wants to tell me about when a woman's fed up and how to leave the club with two of um on my arm is tellin me he's creepin with his hair braider? Genius!
Hair Braider is absolutely great, I think R. Kelly is the definition of perfect when it comes to music, and for all yall thats hatin, who got the money to prove their talented.
