Late last year, Slip-n-Slide Records announced that they were looking for an R&B artist who could take the veteran, Florida-based hip-hop label to the next level. Three months later, enter Qwote, who, thanks to influence of The Beatles and Michael Jackson among others, has what it takes to make it on both his label and in this industry. On his debut single, Don’t Wanna Fight, Qwote tries to skip over the arguing and asks his lady if they can get back to making sweet love. For a female perspective on the matter, SNS label mate Trina offers her insight, but is pretty pissed that men chase ”anything in a tight skirt.” Whichever side you take on the matter, though, there is no denying that the label made a nice catch. You can qwote us on that!
Haven't heard of Qwote before, he sounds pretty good, and this song makes pretty good use of air supply's 'all out of love'. Good beat and pretty smooth. Probably could use a bit more Trina throughout the track instead of just the middle. Not really blown away though, as there have been a lot of good r&b tracks featured during the past few weeks.
I hear a fair amount of resemblance to Usher's "Love In This Club" (which by the way is #1 on the charts this week). Qwote is a nice addition to SNS, I can see this bumping perfectly on Miami beach under the sun.
Too cornyyyyy i wanna hear sumthin original not loveee loveee loveeee its catchy and the beat works but its just not something that gets you noticed. Trina brings a quick fix spark too the beat..Trina good work but cmon Qwote step ya game up with those lyrics ur singing is aighhhtttt I guess
This bangs nicely. It's not super original, but it's sounds smooth in my ear canal. I'll give it 3 stars. Trina...hmmm....I've never liked her rapping.
Good to see SNS branching out...Qwote is definitely skilled, tho it does sound a bit like Usher & Jeezy's "Love In This Club." This is one track Trina was definitely the right person to pick as a collabo. Look for a super-hot remix (Ted Lucas, if you're reading this, may I recommend Plies for the remix-he is proven to SLAUGHTER these types of tracks)
For a FIRST single, c'mon people. Most artists would love to create something so catchy for their debut into the industry. This should pick up steam at radio if promoted right by Jive. Somewhere, Raheem DeVaughn might get jealous.
It does sound a bit similar to "Love In This Club". Has that happy atmosphere, even with the theme of the song. Should get fair radio play if Jive plays their cards right, as Z said.
When I hear this song, it just makes me think of Snoop's Sexual Eruption and how he didn't even right it himself (how wack!). But this beat is hot and I can't give too much credit to Qwote for his lyrical skills because its not really a very hard song to pull off. I don't think I would listen to it again so its OK instead of rotation.
im feeling the beat..but not really something to start off ya career with..dont really see this getting mad radio play like other debuts (pop lock and drop it, this is why im hot, throw some Ds...etc) this jawn really dont even have a "catch phrase" that will get caught in people's heads when they listen to music like the above mentioned..
Uh first off this song is real good and there are not alot of artists to pull off there first track this nice and you really need to upgrade this song been played on the radio! This song came out way before usher, so usher song sounds like this in atlanta, they play this and florida!
Qwote you on that?!!1 hahahaha. Anyway, this really good. All songs at one time or another sound like each other, albeit with different degrees of repetitiveness. The music biz repeats it self as much as any other medium (i.e. Movies).
NW THATS WAT U CALL HOT...YOU DID GUD ON DIS ONE CAUSE YOU GOT DA BADDEST BITCH MY MUTHER-FUCKING DAWG TRINA...!SO I KNW YOU HAD GUD TIME MAKE THIS ONE..!
i LIKE IT.. AND I LIKE TRINA ON IT... THATS SOME OF THE REALEST ISH SHE DONE SAID...
"I been lonely, no communication, Findin' numbers am I supposed to be patient
I waited the sun came up, watched you walk out the house I was stuck, Tears fell down my face, so hurt
You chase everything in a tight min-skirt"
