Why does Miami up-and-comer QuESt grind day in and day out, passing up parties in favor of all-nighters in the studio? Simple: he wants to amass the cash and renown necessary to live LavishLuxuriously. Making its exclusive world premiere right here in the Booth, the new mixtape cut finds QuESt describing just how driven he is to achieve the ritzy standard of living he’s always desired for himself and his girl—as far as he’s concerned, “Life without the fame and the love and the fortune to me is livin’ wrong.” California producer STC‘s spaced-out synth arpeggios and downtempo percussion have a much chillier feel than Woody‘s bouncy production on No One’s Allowed, and the rapper tones down his delivery slightly to match, but it all comes together to hypnotically catchy effect. In any case, the sharply contrasting sounds we’ve heard from QuESt thus far are a testament to the emcee’s versatility; fans digging this track can hear more of his many styles on Broken Headphones, due out this Tuesday (the 28th).

I've been waiting for this to drop. Quest is the homeboy. "Broken Headphones" should be a really dope album that should wake people up to Quest's skills if they have been sleeping.
Good ish all around. |

QuEST has a nice sound. I wish he had rapped more though. Each verse seemed cut off.

LIVE FROM LA:
QuEST has a real refreshing sound. He is certainly part of a new breed of emcee that I am very excited about moving forward... I hope you get to live the life, homie. |

I really don't know what to think of this track. I wasn't expecting the rap vocals to be like that. It was kinda tight though now that I think about it. I did feel like they were too short though. I think I need to hear more from him before I make any judgements about him as an artist.

'A Tribe Called QuESt' ...
Not one of his best work but this isnt a direct reflection of his work. None the less its a BANGER!!! Beautiful production, conscious lyrics and a vibrant blend of singing and rapping and he knows how to create an atmosphere with a melodic hook. |

This song is weird. At once I wasn't enthusiastic about it, but now I kinda like it! There are still some parts I don't like, but he sounds good and I love the music
