On July 28, dopeRoots (a partnership between top hip-hop blogs 2DopeBoyz and illRoots) will team up with HipHopDX to release the free online album Broken Headphones (likely to be available for download on the Booth). A month before that, dopeRoots will be dropping a preview mixtape, aptly titled There’s Only One Month Left. The Booth’s attention is already piqued, because that mixtape will contain No One’s Allowed, a new track from Miami native and Booth newcomer QuESt. Forgoing the Khaled-promoted, bass-heavy sound commonly associated with the 305 area code in favor of a hipster-underground style, QuESt and Booth favorite XV join forces to showcase their distinctive, border-crossing flows over Woody‘s old-school, sampled boardwork. If you’re digging QuEST’s sunny Miami sound, be sure to check back with us this July for the emcee’s contribution to our exclusive freestyle series.

QuESt's flow is fresh on this. I like the production here. Ok sample not crazy bout it. XV and Q have serious chemistry here. They should do more colabs cause this one worked.

Quest and this song really sounds like this song i had on my mp3 a year ago called "You And Me Baby" by Treal.
not really the same topic but sounds the same production wise. i cant really grasp this one. i like XV more when he raps a lil slower. but still, im not really feelin this track. |

True, I haven't ever heard XV go this quick on a track. However, works for him,QuESt, and the song. Looking forward to QuESt's freestyle coming up.

Fianlly got some QUEST ON HERE!
Dope! This is the homey right here. He's been shutting down the internet down for the past six months. Look homey up. "Where's My Rhymebook" makes my list of 10 favorite mixtapes of all time. We had a collab track called 'The Robert Frost Theory" that was supposed to make my "Counting Sheep" mixtape, but he had some other things to take care of. Hopefully it will surface eventually in the next few weeks here. But this ish right here ninja This ish right here RIGHT HERE Very dope song. Be sure to go check out some more of his music. You won't be disappointed. |

As BDF mentioned, great chemistry. Good flow, solid wordplay, and an enjoyable listen. Thats all I ask these days (with all the music we get sent).

WOW! Couldn't have asked for a better intro of Quest to DJBooth.Net ...
Quest & XV going back and forth spitting hungry verses over a beat that can only be described as ridiculously dope! These new cats are all so difeferent but similiar in a unique way is dat what unites them is their fresh, left-of-center enthusiasm and an innovative approach to hip-hop ... these new artists seem to be about the good music, so things are looking up ... Lookin forward to Quest's freestyle/Broken Headphones, XV's Mixtape/KWTGBP AND Young Son's MUSIC (duh) .... |
